ya, a lot of envy out there
with that said, some people genuinely do want to raise children, which is awesome. respect for them.
im just hoping fr33 will have more kids for us all to save our society. gods plan

Having a child has changed my life and motivated me to push myself. You don’t realize the depths you would go to, for your child. I feel bad for those don’t want or can’t have children.
Let's take a moment to celebrate those who have enough pride and self-motivation to make their lives better in the absence of children.

yup. kids suck. not surprising that we have people like Roger out here trying to shame people for doing something so stupid

This may come as a shock to you but there are a few tiers between "$20M NYC penthouse" and "alone, poor and eating at Sonic." Also, your concept money/travel leads me to believe that your idea of a "vacation" is Disney World.
You would hate Disney World.

My wife and I are 45 & 43, with kids, have a nice place in a nice city and made enough money in the past decade to travel to Disney as well as every continent minus Antarctica multiple times.

You have no clue what it's like for professionals with kids.

Of course, not having kids means your DNA has failed at its only purpose.

We could afford a much bigger house, more expensive vehicles etc (even with a kid). I just don't care about that crap as much anymore.
Same. People in the "accumulation" stage of their life are totally different from those who are settled, know what they want and are at peace with it.
Interesting though, rises in childless rates coincide with drops in testosterone.
You're not the man your father was.
Of interest, rising obesity rates and being less physically fit are also cited.
Basically the soy boy phenomenon is real.

I feel the exact same way. I know I wouldn't be as far along in my career or have the things I have if I had chosen to remain childless. Its extra motivation I guess, and I needed it.
I do get sick of hearing a few friends I have constantly talk about their choosing to not have kids so they can have fun. I don't care what they do with their life, it's not like I'm judging them. It seems like they haven't admitted to themselves that they are starting to feel lonely or purposeless in life.

And the first time that little baby looks up at you, and smiles from ear to ear when they recognize your face? You'll be addicted
and when that little angel grows into a teenager and tells you how stupid you are and all the things they think you don't know, and becomes the ungrateful, unappreciative brat most of them become, you'll lose that addiction, get a hysterectomy or vasectomy and start counting down the days till they move out.

All kidding aside, and I don't mean this in a mean or insulting way, but I honestly pity you.

Why does a person not doing something they don’t want to do = narcissism?
that's a bad question, counselor
the narcissism is in the why behind the choice
the alternative choice (having kids) is our biological and evolutionary default. those explain the "why" there. "why do people want to have kids?" well because we literally evolved from slime with the biological imperative to have kids. that's why.
so then, why do people reject having kids? it's almost always defended by selfishness, but behind that selfishness is a narcissism trying to explain how important that person is (and why their selfishness is the right choice)
