Someone has a bright future ahead of them. Good for him.
Legitimate question...but can he just get a doctorate already? It sounds like he came up with two unbelievable finds for his field: 1) mapping stars to actual cities - with a hit rate of 117 actual Mayan cities and 2) discovered a previously unknown city that happens to be the 4th largest Mayan city ever found...using the tactic he developed in #1.
This is more PhD worthy than what most people in his field have earned.

Are tons of scientists working on finding hidden ruins in the jungles? No. There's a lady researcher who takes multi spectral satellite data and locates 'hidden' sites all over the world, she's found 1000s. Guess what, no one gives a frick.
Holy shite man, there is still stuff for you to find out there too, relax.
May I suggest you start by looking for your weiner, no woman has claimed to see it since your mother...
OH BURN

He probably watched this show "What On Earth?" On the Science Channel where people find strange stuff on Google Maps and the experts explain it. One episode talked about an Egyptologist who was scanning the remote Sahara for potential unknown sites and found a lost pyramid.

The kid is lucky that he isn't homeless or a drugs addict.

Sooooo, this is all bullshite. It isnt a city after all. What the kid found is a giant cornfield used by the Mayans. The field was already known to scientists.
Scientists immediately disputed the "city" discovery, but the story of a 15 year old outwit ting scientists was too compelling g for the media.
Kid discovers previously discovered cornfield

That deceitful little bastard! Should have known... Fricking Canadians, eh?
Posted on 5/11/16 at 8:08 am to ULSU
Well that is the last straw. We need to invade Canada now.

Next up correlating constellations and stars with pyramids and finding buried hidden tombs in Egypt. May be wrong but I thought the pyramids at Giza have some correlation to the Polaris. So is this really a new concept?

The kid said it was a clock, but it looks like a bomb to me.

Oh u are going to believe the eggheads punked by a pre teen now? 85% of scientist are worthless POS, and will never come up an original idea or thought. Just like every other profession.
Most overrated profession ever, I have literally had them in tears on the witness stand. Most are so arrogant they cant take objective criticism. "Look at me I have a PHd so i must be right, how dare you question me."

Sadly, something this historic and amazing will be on the last page of a smalltime newspaper, as opposed to a couple of teens who steal radio which is the front page news across America.

Let me check this kid's knuckles before I give him any credit.

The mexicans that live right there are the ones who should be shamed. How does this go unnoticed?
The last remaining Mexican snuck into the US two years ago. Blame the Guatemalans.

So, he'll learn from this. Still gotta hand it to the kid.

but those are "scientists" who no doubt had a "concensus" that no city was there
