well that was a trigger I didn't realize I had.
I know that this board has their vv staunch beliefs/disbeliefs about covid, and that's fine...
but it made me think of all the people I took care of during the peak of covid in the ICU. I hope his nurse held his hand and prayed with him as he passed.
ppl on here can say what they want to abt the virus, but for me I am haunted by the number of ppl that I took care of, whose frightened eyes I looked into, the fear they had just before being intubated and placed on the vent- both of us knowing that moment would likely be their last moment of 'being awake", whose hands I held as they passed...
I think I really do have some ptsd from covid nursing. and that is saying a lot, bc I have seen some horrible stuff in my career.

Good Morning y'all.
Rained all night here and thankful for it. The trauma for nurses is a casualty of covid. I am thankful for Nurse and other ICU nurses that faced that. Being an ICU nurse carries heartbreak when some of the patients never go home. That episode of our lives deserves a 'tip of the hat' for your service.
