People love to classify their trash but it should come as no big surprise to anyone here that we have more than a fair share of trash to contend with in this part of the country, be it white or black.

It's a problem that affects every group here.

These stats are probably derived from Uniformed Crime Reports which every city/police agency is supposed to report, but often do not. If you have a good reporting system, competent people who dot every 'i' and cross every 't', the stats are probably good.

But, if a city chooses not to report, or to cook the books, their crime rate does not show up.

Take West Monroe for instance. Probably not a safer city in the state but has a very capable police department and I know they do a good job of reporting UCRs.

In larger cities, a knife pulling/threat may not even warrant a police report but I assure you in a place like West Monroe, it's reported.

So this list is probably not a good sampling. I'd venture that Denham Springs is much safer than New Orleans or Shreveport, etc.

Pretty simple

We like to classify trash into categories like white, black, urban, redneck, and then along imaginary lines on a map like BR and NOLA, and LP, AP, and then Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.

Truth be known, there are very few differences and many more commonalities with all the above. It's a regional problem that doesn't stop at racial or imaginary geographical lines on a map. All have more than their fair share of trashy humans when you compare it to other regions of this country. Sorry, but that's the facts.

You haven't been to hammond lately. Only places worth a shite are a small area downtown. I still don't feel unsafe in hammond.

Surprised Jennings isn't on that list anymore. The one time my old man goes there, he gets a gun pointed at his head and his truck stolen. (found later on with cigarettes being stolen)

frick Jennings, LA.

Who is Homeshield? Sounds like a security company. Maybe they are lacking business in those cities?

Figures:

Those statistics inculded both violent crime and property crime. Improper telephone communication, identity theft, shoplifting, vandalism, all these are included in the stats. That kind of skews the numbers.
