I heard you should not turn your back on it but also you shouldn’t calmly walk away. It’s almost like a 50/50 bet trying to scare it away by yelling or making yourself big.

You should confront these animals, make yourself big and loud, throw things etc. They don't want to fight. They want to ambush.

Wildcat attacked a man on bike near me. Jumped him from an over hanging cliff. Knocked him down.

Cougar jumps on victim #1, victim #2 abandons his friend and runs away. Cougar jumps on victim #2 and drags him off as victim #1 runs away leaving his friend to die.
