Nice try. But they left out 12 states not reporting. You know huge states like

Texas
California
South Carolina
Illinois
Florida
Pennsylvania
Missouri
Nevada

Thats almost half of America. And in the states that did report
quote:

As of July 26 in Utah there were 519 new cases and almost 20 percent or 94 were breakthroughs

quote:

In Virginia, total breakthrough cases resulting in death from Covid-19 went from 17 in mid-July to 42 on Friday.

Ok. It's a lot less than half the country but theoretically even if it was half and you double .08 percent it's 1.6 percent, whats the difference? 98.4% of vaccinated people still dont get covid.

So if the larger states come in at 20% like Utah, you think that only doubles the percent of infected? Good grief. In Florida, in one county 9% of vaccinated are being hospitalized. Far more have less severe breakthrough cases
quote:

And the Jackson Health System reported that, as of Wednesday morning, they had 146 inpatients who have tested positive for COVID-19, with 91% of them unvaccinated.

And the CDC now says 1 in 5 new cases are in Florida. If Florida is 10% of severe cases, then its easily 20% of breakthrough cases, which blows that 1.6% out of the water when you add Florida cases

and 70% of people that live there are fully vaxxed, of course the biggest percent of covid cases in that area are gonna be in fully vaxxed people.

You ignore a 30+ state study to cherry pick and post about one town?

I bet you cherry pick that 1 in 10,000 Dr that says the vaccine is bad too and believe him.

A: no just pointing out a study that was published with evidence of vaccines not being as great as advertised.

B: you already used your cherry picking lines in another post before you edited it out

You're cherry picking certain areas and trying to use anomalies as proof.

When you look at the country as a whole the facts are that less than 2% of vaccinated people have gotten covid nationally. The vaccine works.

9% of vaccinated are hospitalized

Is your claim:

A) That among all the people who have received the vaccine in that Florida county, 9% are in the hospital.

Or

B) Among all those currently hospitalized for/with Covid, 9% are fully vaccinated.

Those would be two wildly different numbers, the first one would be a national emergency (unless < 100 people are vaccinated in that county), the second one is in line with every other region in the South.

The second one (at face value) also doesn’t disprove OP’s claim, however it shows how misleading using an entire population as a denominator can be.

There have been 125k reported breakthrough cases in the US
out of 164.2 million-plus people who have been fully vaccinated. That's .08%.

That's not an adequate sample size for you? You would rather just look at random towns numbers?

I gave one example for conversations sake and called it evidence that they're not as great as advertised. Never said the words proof or bad. I wish the vaccines were perfect for everyone who felt the need to get them.

My only argument with you is that I think we should all mind our own business.

Except the adequate comparison is the % of unvaccinated that have gotten Covid during the period that vaccines are available.

I think (I'll run the numbers in a bit), you'll end up with since July 1st using a state dashboard you'll have 0.1% of vaccinated that have gotten it and 0.5% of unvaccinated (which would then be the 87-90% effectiveness range reported elsewhere).

Now tell me what % of unvaccinated people have the virus?

Point being sure this number is low but I’d be willing to bet the other number is also low

This isn’t true at all. Why did the CDC stop counting breakthrough infections?

Aaaaaaaaand they're only tracking hospitalizations and deaths for breakthrough cases.

Meanwhile everything that died in the last year and a half was tested for the virus, and new cases are still counted as they were a year ago.

Lying with statistics!

You a lying piece of shite. Israel released a study this week you know because they are actually keeping count of breakthrough cases and they are finding that the vaccine has about a 40% clip rate to actually work.
