Exactly, the NFL is now an offensive league. Take advantage and hire a great OC that has the traits to be a head coach.

Who to says they are not considering an offensive coach? The reality is they need to start the interview process now that the season is over. In order to interview an employed coach, they need to request permission from the team (always given for promotions, unless they have a game this week). Anytime you see a leak, it's because a team went through the proper protocol. If they are actually going to do their due diligence, logically they will need to interview coaches from all 3 phases.
Also, a lot of the posts are coming out like Loomis has a certain pattern when it comes to making these decisions. The reality is, he has only hired 2 coaches in his career, Payton & DA.

Early speculation is he is receiving high interest from NE, have to imagine this would be his preferred location.

I agree, Loomis made a huge mistake with DA hire, can’t replace one of the best offensive play callers and SB winning HC with a mediocre DC who was fired once as a HC, that hire set Saints back. Saints need new offensive blood and mind running team not retread HC

The most successful franchise in recent history had a defensive coach, maybe we should go for that model instead?
