He’s an average QB. He plays average. He’s paid an average salary. You will get average play from him. The problem is the well below average OL play and well below average WR play.
I personally think he’s well below average but even if he is average why waste $38 million/ year on him. He’s old and his best years are behind him and he clearly cant elevate a bad team.
We aren’t worried about Carr being that horrible of a player it’s the entire thought process behind investing time and money into an old average bum who just got fired and isn’t worth $150 million. Also he’s made the OL and WRs look worse than they are.

Carr could start in for the Giants, Cowboys, Bears, Panthers, Jets, Patriots, Browns, Steelers, Colts and Titans.
Carr wouldn't start for half of those teams.
I get that our whole team is garbage and we've got 10 problems that are much bigger than starting QB, but let's not suddenly act like Carr is a good starting QB. He's a career loser, who is a terrible leader and probably ended Olav's career this year. He barely played, so our fans are forgetting just how shitty he is.

I’m not a Carr fan but not sure how anybody says he is not a top 32 QB

Carr has 11 years of excuses. Everyone around him is terrible, he’s never the issue
To be fair. Carr hasn’t had Mcvay, Coen or Johnson.
He was at the shite show of the Raiders. He did pretty good with Gruden though.
Career arc plays a role here. Look at Baker as the perfect example of leaving a shite show of a franchise.
I would have love to see what Payton could have have done with Carr.

I agree and said it multiple times on here. We should have brought in Baker, Bridgewater, Dalton, Minshew, Flacco, Darnold, whoever, on a one year prove it deal with incentives for no more than 5 million.
Do that for two years in a row and we woulda been out of cap hell this year or close to it. Instead Carr has us pushing 60-70 million of his salary into future years.
Carr isn’t nearly as bad as some of you say though. He was just not what we needed at this time. But Loomis wanted to double down on his bad Allen hire and show everyone he was smarter by trying to get him a winning season.
He shoulda been fired by now.

Who’s going to sign a prove it contract with this roster? If I’m a QB I’ll prove I’m a good QB throwing to Mike Evans. I’ll prove it throwing to Jets, Addison and Hockinson. I’m not proving anything throwing to Juwan Johnson in Pete Carmichael’s offense.
