You’re not taking up for Carr?

Carr has 170 career starts my guy. This isn’t about 2025, I actually thought Carr played admirable this year bc he was dealt a shite hand.
Carr went 12-3 and then followed it up with a 6-9. Same coach, guys like Crabtree and Amari, Lat Murray, Lynch Jared Cook. Good enough to go 12-3 with this terrible organization and players, of course he could not sustain the success. Followed his 10-7 year with a 6-9 with Josh Jacobs leading the league in rushing and Devante Adams putting up 1500 yards. Ah poor little Derek never had any weapons. You want to have it both ways but ya just can’t
And I never brought up Goff. Yall think these guys are interchangeable and comparing a career loser with a career winner just doesn’t sit right. Buddy is comping him to a borderline HOF QB. Earlier in the year guys were saying they’d take Carr over Lamar Jackson. Based off what ifs and a fairytale of excuses

0.00 percent chance they would bail on Lawrence after firing Doug for Derek fricking Carr.

Carr is a mid level QB. Put Carr on the Browns and they are a playoff team. That being said, he is being paid like an elite QB.

Agreed.

Not really. He’s being paid mid-level QB money. His contract is less than Cousins, Baker, and will be less than Darnold next year. The way Loomis has structured it is problematic, but he’s not being paid top tier QB money.

Carr and Baker are comparable. We could have had Baker for next to nothing when he signed Carr (both were benched). We chose to give Carr very good $ for several years and Bucs took Baker on a prove it deal.

That’s the whole point, Carr, Darnold, Goff, Baker the same qb.
Depending on coaching and surrounding talent, will hinge on their success….

Strange that Jimmy G had one of the highest win % of a qb in nfl history and goes to a Raiders team with those same weapons, Adams and Jacobs, and yet they still drafted in front of us last year. It’s a mystery.

Agree but we locked in on Carr for a multi year deal knowing we were paper thin talent wise.

And? Baker’s contract is more than Carr’s now. So pay more now or pay more later.

Jimmy G started 6 games that year
Rookie Aidan O’Connell started 10, won 5. Rookie Aidan O’Connell! Year before Carr started 15, won 6. Do that math

I’m not sure Carr has the ceiling of 4500 and 41 baker just put up while almost running for another 400 and 3.
He also completed 71% of his passes.
He seems to have leveled up now that he finally has some stability.

I don’t think he’d throw for those numbers either. But he’d probably be close if he was playing for Tampa with their roster and coaching. Don’t get me wrong, I think Baker is a little better than Carr. But not by leaps and bounds.
Baker is younger and more athletic. He probably throws a better slant and curl than Carr. He’s also going to force balls and throw more interceptions.
Carr throws a better deep ball and will take the check down instead of trying to force a ball.
Both will make one or two boneheaded plays a game. Neither are elite. Neither are terrible. They are both slightly better than average QBs.
I don’t know why everything has to be so damn extreme where a QB is either in the MVP race or they are the 2nd coming of Nathan Peterman.

Carr had a qb rating of over 100 and he would make a good backup huh lol. Hes not an upper tier qb, but his rating was higher than Mahomes this year. Got some idiots on this board.
He’s past his prime and no one wants to waste their time on him. He’s limited as a winner. The only stat y’all ever bring up is qb rating because Cpt. Checkdown completes tons of short passes and sometimes has good yardages. But he can’t regularly score the ball against good defenses and he’s one of the worst redzone quarterbacks.

Yeah dude, of course he would be. WIll Levis starts for an NFL team

Will Levis would start over Carr easily. Titans used the 33rd pick on him. He’s only 25 and needs the reps. Now whether or not he is better or will be better than Carr is unknown but any team would probably start him over Carr at this point.

Will Levis is not the future of any organization. He's about to be a perennial backup.
So much so that the Titans are considering taking on 42 year old aaron rodgers

You’re probably right and maybe now they’re ready to move on. But they took a chance on him and they weren’t having him sit on the bench

I see a whole bunch of non-answers.
The answer is nobody because Carr fricking sucks cock.
All these “Carr is not the problem” responses make me hope he returns and sucks cock again, leading to another dogshit season.
Exactly what Saints fans deserve.

I gave an answer. It’s just not one you like or agree with. Carr played better than the other QBs below.

To answer your question, Yes. Carr could start in for the Giants, Cowboys, Bears, Panthers, Jets, Patriots, Browns, Steelers, Colts and Titans. He might be able to beat out Trevor Lawrence this year as well as Tua and Cousins.

It’s this dumb, non-analytical thought process that is the problem discussing this topic. He doesn’t suck cock. He’s an average QB. He plays average. He’s paid an average salary. You will get average play from him.
The problem is the well below average OL play and well below average WR play.
Your house is on fire and you are complaining because you don’t like the couch you bought from Ethan Allen because it doesn’t tie the room together!

Mayfield won the first playoff game in 26 years in CLE. He’s increased the Bucs win total each year he’s been there
And the Aint's had every opportunity to sign him. This should expose the front office's decision making and talent evaluation (or lack there of). And THIS is the problem
