Jayden Daniels is a done deal so he's off the board.

Maybe if he's a bust, the Team Interior Designer will have no choice but to relieve Loomis of his duties

If we pass on Fautanu, Latu, Latham, and Bowers for Nix, WTF are we gonna about Carr?!

If we pass on Bowers for freaking Nix I’ll lose my shite

I'd have a tough time believing that Bowers would even be there at #14 but I understand exactly what you mean.

On second thought, don’t even worry about it. From all the reports I heard, Allen would never do this to his boy Carr. He’s babying him so much, this woukd never happen.

I’m still not over us passing on Branch last year. I’ve made that clear several times since the draft lol.

I really believe some of you clowns worst nightmare is the Saints hire a new OC and have success with DA and Carr.
Better to lose and be right than to win and wrong about DA and Carr right?

If that’s the pick, we might as well trade down and get more picks instead. Bo Nix is not an NFL QB. He can’t throw it down the field.

Just because he didn't doesn't mean he can't . That was just Lanning's offense, and he ran it very well. I'm not sure they even had any legit downfield threats for him to throw to. This is not me saying he can, either, though. I don't know. That will be determined during the combine and his pro day.
But if he does have sufficient arm strength, I think there's a lot to like with him. He had a rough 2021 under Harsin (who didn't, but still finished that year with 11 TDs to only 3 interceptions), and I think that has warped how a lot of SEC fans think about him. But he had some nice moments at Auburn before he left for Oregon and completely transformed his career.
I think there's enough to like that I wouldn't hate the Saints taking him if they really liked him. BUT, not at #14. I'd be fine with them taking a shot on him with 1 of their 2 2nd rounders. But he'll be 24, and you know we're stuck with Carr for at least 1 more year, so if you take him in the 2nd round and sit him for a year, you've only got 3 more years of him on a rookie deal. So if the Saints do wind up falling in love with him, they'd probably try to package those 2 2nd rounders to move back up to the end of the 1st round to take him.
Not sure how I'd feel about that. On 1 hand, for a team with cap problems that needs cheap labor, 2 2nd round position players that turned out to be starters or at least in the 2 deep would help a lot. Turning those 2 into 1 player who wouldn't start until '25 at best would be tough to swallow. On the other hand, I'd love for the Saints to actually identify a QB they like and aggressively go after attaining him for the 1st time in my life.
All this is likely moot, though. Dennis Allen is married to Derek Carr, and the Saints are--for another year, at least--married to Dennis Allen. And Carr seems like the kind of guy who would be a huge passive aggressive prick if a team were to draft his potential replacement. Hell, he was a passive aggressive prick this year.

Yeah I was floored we passed on Branch. That’s what happens when you let idiots draft based on need.
In this other scenario, if we passed on Latu AND Bowers for Bo fricking Nix I would go play in traffic

That would be the most Saints thing ever.
