He did 25 reps @ 225 lbs at the combine. Not sure you’ll find anything else after that.

Also, weird bet your friend is involved in

Roaf was known as one of the strongest players period in the NFL. I'd say he could bench 400+ easy. This article says that there is an accurate equation for judging a players max 1 time rep using how many times they put up 225 at their pro day. So Roaf would have been around 392. But that was when he was just entering the league. 6 years of muscle growth and training probably pushed him up past 425.

I’m really curious now. What was the number in the bet?

At one of the old NFL skills challenge he came second in the bench challenge with something like 38 reps on 225.

The winner was Larry Allen with 40 something reps.

Good luck finding it online I don't think the NFL published results of those old competitions and it was pre YouTube\streaming days so someone would have to put it online from like a VHS copy but I remember watching it

Using the equation with 38 reps, his max bench would have been 480.

Larry allen was a monster.

Maybe the craziest looking offensive lineman ever.

I've never heard anyone call him William Roaf.

I'll call up Joe Johnson and tell him to ask Willie's ex what he used to bench.

At least 600 lbs. Bet was for $100 and a bottle of tequila.

Larry Allan was said to have benched 700lbs. That is where the Bet came from.

Would’ve guessed more. That’s not too special of a number for OTs

Larry Allen hit a 705 max and squatted 905. One of the bigger freaks we’ve seen in the league

Darion Conner was a 4.81 guy ..

These things aren't always accurate.

There's a 0% chance willie roaf ever benched 600lbs during his playing career.

They need to bring that one back. Larry Allen would crush every year.

You have NO idea. Add in Trent Green, Priest Holmes and Tony Gonzales, and you have what should have been a world-beating offensive machine.

If only that were true (sigh).

But, yeah, those were some good days. As a Tech grad, I loved seeing Willie Roaf here and got very excited when he landed here after the Saints. He was a minor celeb around here - especially when people spotted him walking through the airport (kinda hard to miss someone that large...)

Priest was a hell of a running back, and probably would have been one of the best around if not for the neck injury that ended his career early. Humble off the field, a true beast on the field.

Tony G? What more needs to be said? One of the best to ever play TE - here or anywhere. He was the first bball player crossover, and better than Jimmy Graham will ever be.

Trent was - and continues to be - one of the smartest QBs to play here. Came here from STL's "greatest show on turf" and had a good run behind the monsters on the OLine. Still does most of the TV play-by-play for Chiefs games.

Of that bunch, Will Shields is probably the best of a very good lot. Still very prominent figure here in KC. He has a sports foundation that helps a lot of kids, and does a lot of work in the community. My kids went to school with his daughter, and I met the family a few times. Truly a class act all the way 'round.

And Dick Vermiel? Well, he won me over when he told Larry Johnson he needed to stop whining and "take the diapers off" if he was going to play for an injured Priest Holmes...

Hmmm.... Just occurred to me that Big Red is the second really good coach to come to KC from the Iggles? I just wish his defenses were as good as the offenses he put together.

SO not perfect, but unless you have the man's actual recorded bench, it's the best way to guess. 480 pounds is pretty sick. Benching a shade under a quarter ton is ridiculous.

For what it’s worth, Willie’s a pretty cool dude. Find him on social media and message him and ask. I’m pretty sure he’d respond to you

I did 20 reps of 225 years ago pretty easy but my max was just 330-340 His body size probably gives him a lot more
