I would imagine there's a lot of distrust towards the NOPD and DA's office that goes way back. I've read and heard stories of cops falsifying reports, withholding or destroying evidence in order to get a conviction. It's a notoriously corrupt department and criminal justice system in New Orleans. In the particular case you were on it may have been clear cut but I can understand someone not having a lot of trust in the process.

The law sucks but had it’s purpose. When juries have one idiot not them with agenda, you will get tons of guilty people getting off scot free.

That is the problem with the jury system. Your peers include complete morons, racists (both ways), people with biases that will not make fair judgments for or against.

In the end, it is going to lead to a lot more clearly guilty people getting no punishment.

Then I served on a Orleans Paris jury in a major case, and now I am decidedly mixed on it.

What idiot Defense Attorney would let another lawyer sit on a jury?

You do realize lots of places require this standard already right?
