Favre has 71,838 and Brees has 56,033. Brees is 15,805 away. If he plays four more years he will need to average 3,951 yards per season. I think he will do it

I think he does, but the fella you really have to look out for is Tom Brady

Brady is about 3,000 yards behind Brees and he's a year older

I think he'll player longer. I actually made that statement, knowing someone would bring up brady's elder status

I hope he passes Manning's TD passes record and his passing yards record. I think Manning is about 2,000 from passing Favre's career passing yards

I think that would be difficult to break in three years.

I really don't know to think of Brees ' future.

There is nothing to support this.

Tom Brady
6' 4", 225 lbs
88 sacks the last three seasons
Average defensive rank the last three years: 9

Drew Brees
6' 0", 209 lbs
92 sacks the last three seasons
Average defensive rank the last three years: 22

I think we could argue that some of these are factors.

The biggest reason that Brady will play longer than Drew is that Brady did not have to have his entire shoulder reconstructed through surgery like Drew did. Drew will age faster because of this.

Nope. In modern medicine, reconstruction surgery often makes the body part in question stronger. I.e. Tommy John surgery.

his shoulder is fine

Not to mention Brady is older and has blown out his knee. He's also need other surgeries since then to clean it up

They are only a year apart in age. Not four or five. Negligible factor at best.
Brady has less college miles on him from Michigan because Drew Henson started most of his college career. Brees played every year since he was a freshman.
Brady didn't play his first year in the NFL.
Brees rotated with Flutie his first two years.
Brees has had shoulder surgery. Brady had knee surgery.
Brady has had more post season games.
I think Brees works out and takes care of himself more.
But I think Brady currently has a better offensive line and defense capable of keeping him off the field.

All said, no body can say one will last longer than the other.

If he plays that long he might catch his interception record too

And Brady hasn't lost one bit of arm strength. Can you say the same about Brees???

Brady is about rings, not stats.

Manning will not sniff another ring. He'll just rack up some more stats perhaps and enjoy all the drama that surrounds him.

Brees? Who knows ... damn some stats, be nice for him to get at least one more ring.

Funny, people were saying the same thing about Brady last year and the beginning of this year. Then his oline started blocking...
