It’s not like the opponents aren’t already known

I can’t imagine it’s an easy task to make 32 schedules that don’t conflict as well as maximizing big tv matchups.

Games in Europe
Games in Mexico
Make sure every team plays a Thursday game
Thanksgiving schedule
Monday nite schedule
Opening nite who plays
Saints cant play the weekend of LHSAA football finals at home
Conference games the last 2 weeks of the year
Off weeks
Etc, etc,etc

Lots of things go in to the making of the schedule

A road Monday game followed by a road Thursday game both officiated by an ex-falcon player ref substituted at game time.

Was not in the plan for the Saints togo 11-5 and RG is still try to put the fix in with a couple short weeks with Atlanta on the back end.

They have to decide how best to frick the Saints chances by setting up Thursday games after a Sunday west cost late game and Monday divisional opponents followed by early Sunday road game

NBC has to meddle to make sure there's an optimal NFC EAST SHOWDOWN every weekend.

It is easy to do the Saints schedule. All hard games on the road, ensure Thursday night game is in either Atlanta or Carolina, right after a Sunday night game against either the Vikings or Eagles. Throw in a few games on the road to start the season, and you have an optimal Goddell schedule.

NFL games are on sunday. I hope you really don't believe that the LHSAA finals in the Dome dictates to the NFL when the saints can play a home game?
