Didnt we sign Byrd and Junior to huge contracts that same year though?
Worked out well

Obviously we can't develop talent. That is so obvious it's not even funny.

Jenkins looks totally rejuvenated in Philly.

Oh where did he start his career again and got countless chances?
Hmmmmm let me think....

Sproles was better on the Saints than he is on the eagles.
Look at his stats. Not difficult.
How about Stills going to the dolphins. What a debut he had! Not hard to

I guess some think a player looking better on another team happens just to the saints....

Do Chargers fans make Brees threads when he has great games?
Posted on 9/14/15 at 10:57 pm to CocoLoco
Probably made sproles threads too while he was here.
Did buffalo make threads about greer? The jets when vilma was here? The giants when Shockey was here? Do the steelers wish they had keenan back last year?
I could easily go on but It's stupid and juvenile but some can't help themselves.

Got to be one of the stupidest memes on this board.

I didn't post a meme.
Watch kenny stills do jack shite this year in Miami. Again, someone bring up the Sproles stats here compared to Philly.
These threads are the dumbest shite on this board.

Jenkins was the worst safety in the league when he was here.
How many chances did you want him to have here?
Personally, I'm glad he went somewhere that fits him.

Ugh, I don't mean picture. The thought that Saints fans on this board are the only fans in the league to discuss former players is frickING RETARDED.
That doesn't mean he wouldn't be helpful here since we're currently one deep at that position.

Certainly sarcastically implied here
and happens all the time in threads like this.

I suspect the point was that every team has players they wish they kept.
Or, more importantly, as many players as we may wish we still had, other teams probably wish they hadn't come to us.
I imagine quite a few Seahawks fans were missing Unger this weekend when Beastmode went nowhere.
Getting rid of Jenkins was the right move.

Not sure. We aren't any better on defense and he was clearly the leader on D that would've prevented leadership being turned over to Junior Gallete. If I remember correctly Vaccaro was begging for leadership last season. Keenan said that's not his job. Jordan is the captain now, I'm not sure he's the right type.

You can't just keep a guy for leadership potential.
I'm not exaggerating when I say he was the worst safety in the league with us.

I agree that we miss Jenkins' leadership, and the fact that he's excelling elsewhere while failing in NO is just an indictment on our coaches and scheme, IMO

I couldn't disagree more.
Byrd = massive contract, no production.
Availability is important.
Jenkins = much, much smaller contract, way more production and availability.
If you knew then what you know now, would you take Byrd over Jenkins considering contracts and injuries? Negative.
So in hindsight, getting rid of Jenkins for Byrd was a mistake. Although it was a mistake nobody could foresee, it was a mistake nonetheless.
*Hell, getting rid of anyone for Byrd was a huge mistake at this point. We may as well have set a wheelbarrow of money and a roster spot on fire.*
