Why did the Saints let go of Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray?

Both have a TD today for the Ravens and a combined 100 yards rushing.

Go off what you see. Freeman was the hot garbage for the Saints so he was cut. How you cannot understand that I have no idea. Like the other poster said Murray wouldn't take a pay cut and we needed to make some moves so he got cut.

This. Anyone that saw the preseason games saw Murray was just mailing it in until Jones was about to take his job. Then it was too little too late and wouldn’t take the paycut (IMO, he probably couldn’t accept he lost the job to a 2nd year UFA).
Freeman just sucked in the preseason and it looked like he was done. Haven’t seen him play yet, but from what I’m hearing he just needed to knock the rust off and the Saints didn’t have enough time to waste waiting to see “IF” he would bounce back. It happens every year w vets around the league
