Rattler is a talent.
He has some valuable experience.
The team needs to ride him out until he proves wrong.

I agree, but with using the #40 pick on a guy as old as Shough, I don't think they will really give Rattler that much time to "prove them wrong"... the leash will be very short, b/c how else can they justify using #40 on a guy who isn't playing?

Shough will start. Try to sign a Wentz or Tannehill as a vet backup/QB room presence.

Shough/Vet/Rattler at qb.

Tell Carr to go have surgery if his shoulder is bothering him so much and don't bother reporting for the season. List him on season-ending IR with sore labia. Put up a cautionary plaque in the facility commemorating what a colossal frick up hiring Dennis Allen was.

What if he starts game 4 and is the qb for the next ten years ?

How many starting QBs in the NFL are over the age of 35?

No team should have to "justify" a 2nd round pick.

You draft qb’s until you hit. Plain and simple.

well, going with lower round QBs hasn't worked out that well for us, as we haven't hit on one yet, and on the other side the same coin, we haven't drafted a QB in the 1st since Archie fricking Manning.... so you tell me? what are we doing wrong?

I agree... but if Rattler outplays and beats out Shough for the QB1 position, that's what they'll have to do... problem is, I don't see how they can, given his age...

We won’t know if he’ll work out for a few years. Crying about it in April does no good.

Shough doesn't have "years" to figure it out... he's way too old for that shite... he's gotta come in ready to go, now... that typical developmental window isn't really there for him, given he's 26 basically at the start of the season...

Correct, Shough is a bust if not starting opening game.

How can they justify wasting a 40 pick on a QB? If they need one they shoulda picked someone else. I don't think they picked him to start right away. Rattler is better all around.
