Who here would have walked away from 30 million?

If I’m filthy rich and the situation is negatively effecting my wife and children. Yes I would.

He must’ve REALLY wanted out of NOLA.

So now we are pretending him being an nfl qb getting paid 30-40 million a year is negatively affecting them? Or how about Derek’s attitude is negatively affecting his career thus affecting his family.

The dude is already rich. Probably couldn’t wait to get out the locker room.

During the season and training camp? Not a chance in hell. You’re bypassing the point that he didn’t want surgery or go through rehab.

Yes. Especially since both sides know they'd be cutting him next offseason anyway. Remember the reason Dan Campbell didn't get a Superbowl ring was because he went on IR early then dipped out of town.

Someone who hurt himself doing something he shouldn’t have that might have voided his contract ?

And saints agreed to not go after the 10 million roster bonus. We gave him 10 million to get fricked. Carr ain’t doing us this huge solid.

You literally said keep his plans to himself. He cannot do that, it’s very simple. He has obligations in his contract. They can agree he can go frick off, sure, that’s not keeping his plans to himself.

What obligations do you think he has on IR? They don't have to show up for team meetings. They just update the team on rehab and maybe come in every once in a while so the team can check their progress.

Everything isn’t about money.

Lol. This is literally not what you originally said. You said he could do whatever he wants and tell no one his plans.

He asked for a pay raise and got told no. Now there’s this mystery devastating shoulder

Not me. I would be out there doing everything to play even if it meant having John McCain shoulders.

Then he’d be 35 coming off surgery and not playing a year and looking for a new team?
With his shoulder injury he will likely never be able to play again. I have the same injury (tore my right labrum 2 times) and I will never have the same range of motion again. Labrum/rotator cuff rehab is rough and honestly you can't rehab the labrum repair.
People will scream that Drew Brees had the same injury but Brees is a .000001% case. He was lucky to be able to play at any level.

No I didn't. I said

While I do think he absolutely didn't want to come back here, he probably could've gotten surgery and not even have to show up much. Just rehab on the west coast, check in every once and a while, then get cut next offseason.
AlabamaSalaryCap said that

Very unselfish move. Being a team player. Changes the fortunes of this football organization!! Never seen this happen in a long time. Could have had surgery, and had a comeback while getting paid. UNSELFISH!!

He didn’t want to come back…
