Was following it on my phone and I called it when they were down by 7. Something told me this crap would happen.

I don't blame him in that situation his team was down all day he is the road in a hostile crowd without the best CB for the Saints on the field. His Defense couldn't stop Drew all day and in that situation I wouldn't play for overtime either. Ballsy yes ,but they won the game...

Deja vu from 2002. Culpepper did it to us as well with a crappy team.

Oh god, don't remind me of that final three game stretch. That really dimmed my fanaticism for the Saints by about 50%. I've never been as into them post 2002 as I was pre 2002.

Any coach who values winning more than he is afraid of criticism if it doesn't go well. Basically, the kind of guy you want as a head coach. It was absolutely the right call and kind of a no-brainer. It wasn't the "safe" thing to do, but doing the "safe" thing basically puts the outcome to a coin flip at best.

Interesting coincidence is that Mike Tice, who is currently the offensive line coach for the Raiders, was the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings back in 2002 when the Vikings beat the Saints with the 2-point conversion to end the game. I wonder if Tice went to Jack Del Rio and said, "Coach, I've been in this situation before and it worked out fine for me, give the 2-point conversion a try".
