It basically makes no sense to trade anyone on the team this off-season, other than our players on rookie deals, unless we wait until after June 1. Same with cutting.

The way our cap and contracts are now - we will HAVE to extend multiple veterans this offseason just to get compliant. We don’t have a choice. We are in a significant cap hole and we get no relief by cutting or trading any of the bad contracts. They have to be extended or restructured again.

The team needs to be very careful to make sure they do this with players we actually want on the team in 2-3 years, cause we’re gonna be stuck with them.

Exactly

We are F'd

We are going to have to extend guys we don't want just to get under the cap.

My take
Trade
Kamara for at least a 1 and hopefully a 3 too
Lattimore for a 1
Thomas what ever we can get tied into a conditional 2024
Peat hopefully a 3
Davenport hopefully a 2-3
Cut Ingram or don’t resign
Release Winston
I’d like to resign Landry for cheap
And hopefully get a 1 for Payton

And start fricking rebuilding

L-O-L

Lattimore would create a negative cap hit so he can't be dealt.

I don't get into salary cap specifics. Does that mean he's right?

Or does that dead cap mean it would take $13m away from that $15.8?

We give whatever team Payton goes to our 2nd, 3rd, 4th and Thomas while working out to eat his salary because Payton won a Superbowl over a decade ago

We don’t. Dead cap hit.
I just find it funny that our three biggest cap hits are some of our lowest performing players now.

This is the price of converting salaries to signing bonuses and using void years to lessen the immediate cap impact.

Everyone on here thought it could go on forever, but what we are about to find out is that we have to keep extending mediocre-bad players just to get under the cap, which delays any ability for rebuilding.

For the next Superbowl that Payton never won while wasting Brees prime years, then chicken shite and ran away. But 90 percent of y'all want him back lmao
