What is the current status of Vele’s knee injury?

He was dealing with it last year and this offseason. Did Mickey at least give him a physical?

He was getting regular rest days throughout training camp and missed all of mini camp.
Mini camp was in early may. Kinda weird that he’s still getting rest days months later as a sprain of say the MCL should’ve resolved by now.
Given Payton’s history with underselling injuries I wouldn’t call it an ideal start.

All of these trades are subject to physicals. In every case.
Now you can argue it's the Saints medical staff giving the physical so take that for what it's worth.

My guess is he doesn't suit up for more than 8 games this season before the Saints give him a 4 year $100 million contract extension with $80 million guaranteed.

It better be fine. He was a 7th round draft choice last year and we gave them their 7th back plus a 4th.
