He seems better at drafting than CSP or Loomis. Was he the one brought in to revamp the scouting department?

I think the biggest draft issue we have is NOT Ireland. It’s Loomis making overly aggressive trades that benefit other teams more than the Saints. It’s like he believes the Saints are one player away every year.

Good point but there is no way to truly tell. Ireland was talking at the senior bowl about not having enough info from this yr on a few players
One being foskey. That isn't good.

He is in charge of the entire draft process. Loomis isn't a personnel guy in the slightest.

Even if Loomis is making these trades, it's still off of Ireland and his team's evaluations. He had a top half 1st round grade on penning.

the communication between these new young guys and finding ways to connect with them is huge these days.

On Cam Jordan's Off the Edge podcast, he and Demario talked about a few different topics. I think it was the best episode all year.

One player on the Saints didn't know what day 9/11 occurred on for example. DeMario brought that up and said they sat him down and had a conversation.

Cam talked about trying to break through connecting with Foskey. He asked him what he thought about a play/formation and just got a, yeah! But then when he texted him later on, he got a paragraph of an answer.

I think that's a huge unknown aspect of hitting on or missing on this new age of players who grew up in a digital age.

At perry will probably always be that 4th receiver type that can go up and get the ball.

Perry’s game is far more than a jump ball guy. All he needs is more polish on his short game. Couple that with his deep speed/height and he COULD produce the way Payton thought Meachem and Trequan Smith were supposed to.
