Rumor is three teams seriously interested ATM?

I think the news was there was three teams he would come out retirement for but I’m sure it’s Dallas or nothing for him at this point

I can't imagine Jerry didn't make some low ball offer to Gayle and got a eye opening reply

Along these lines, when Jim Mora quit during the season and then went to Indy, why didn't the Saints get compensation? The situation seems much the same.

Two 1st round picks should be the price. That’s a fair offer.

Saints own CSP contract for 3 years. 2 years left.

Value goes down every year.

Not how it works. When he retired, his contract was frozen. No matter he decides to coach again, when he does he is still property of the Saints for 3 seasons.

I'll be interested in how this all plays out. As someone else said, Payton will only come out of retirement to coach a team he wants to coach. There could be 31 teams that want his services, but hypothetically there may be only one team he actually wants to coach. I'm not sure how far the Saints would go to hold him hostage once he's ready to get back into coaching. Makes me wonder who really has the leverage there. I'm not so sure an opponent is going to freely pay the Saints ransom when it's known there is no bidding war for him.

Not sure what you are saying.

The value comment concerns bargaining power. Your not going to get as much for him if he has 2 months left on contract vs 2 years was the point.
