Were the Special Teams gaffes strictly Personnel? Or were they Alignment/Assignment?

This is an area where it does fall on Kellen Moore.

The bottom 20% of our active roster that is used for Special Teams primarily could have been shuffled around with cheap Free Agents, etc. if they didn't think we were competent enough on Punt Protection/Coverage.

However, I do think it wasn't talent but a failure of Alignment/Assignment that maybe could have been fixed with less time spent on Paintballing and Bowling.

Players implement the coaches plan.
Coaches come up with and teach the plan.
Beyond that to know more one would need to be in the coaches room and the players ST room on film day to really know.

Teams do not practice 24/7 365 days a year. These outings are in place by every team and coach

So, not an area that falls on Moore, but on Galiano

Our guys looked like they were running in quicksand. The punt return was well blocked too. Jay Harbaugh is the seahawk ST coach, I imagine that’s a well coached unit

We have guys in the two deep that should be strictly special teams players. So our special teams guys are a massive disadvantage.

The whole roster is one giant hole.

IMO, this is what happens when you focus on getting younger and replacing guys like JT Grey. Young guys do dumb shite. Its part of bottoming out.
