I think the Saints will regret this decision for years to come. BUT, I am hoping Vaccaro does what we need as it's obvious Safety was a need. I just don't think his impact will outweigh what Jarvis Jones would have done.
We'll know in a few years and I really hope I'm wrong.

You do realize that his experience and ability to play nickel is why Vaccaro was labeled the best safety in the draft?
He is a combo safety who can play nickel. If you dont like the pick thats fine, but if your're saying Vaccaro isn't any good and can't play safety? then you're just being irrational bc you simply don't know any better.
No way I'm gonna crown him anything yet. All I know is that the safety position needed to be address and we just drafted the guy most everyone had at the top of that list.

I don't even know what you posted before to say this, but while you're giving yourself pats on the back, understand people are/were shocked they passed up on Jones just like you. Doesn't mean people don't think we need DB's or that Vaccaro will be no good. Just meant that Jones was the perfect player for the Saints and they passed him.

Believe me, this is one of those times I hope I'm wrong. But I think Jones will beast. You can't possibly think the Saints couldn't have used that?

The point is, everyone b!tched and moaned when I said we didn't need anymore pass rushers. Now people are like, "eh, we have enough OLB's" lol. I only pat myself on the back when people act like jacka$$es, then come to the same conclusion that they had a problem with me about.

I won't bring that discussion in here outside of saying I think we have some beast pass rushing OLBs already. We disagree, I know.

For me, I am chapped we didn't get Jones, shocked I tell ya!

No, I didn't say we have shitty LB's or anything. But you and I are guessing if they will beast or not because we haven't seen full-time work out of them. Yes, I know Jones is a college player but he can get after the QB. I truly hope Butler/Galette/Wilson will be able to as well and Vaccaro pimps it out.
Time will tell, but I have this feeling at the end of this year, Jones is going to have a nice sack count.

I'm saying he'll have no more than 8(which is nice), but at least one of our guys will have 10+ and another with 7+. Partly because we have 3 speed rushers to split the sacks.

I heard Sean last night talking about KV playing the slot while having two safeties over the top. I sounded like we drafted a CB. Hell, we could have done that with MJ.
Plus, I think we reached for value. If safeties is what we wanted we could have traded back even for less than a second and picked up one if the top 4 safeties easily. We could of even traded back all the way to a high second and probably got one of the top 4 safeties in the draft.
I hope the guy turns into a baller, but as of now I don't like the pick.

I agree. I like that they went after safety, I just think it may have been the wrong time. If they could have slid back, picked up a 3rd, and still taken Elam (or even Vaccaro because the 9ers had Reid rated higher) that should have been the play. Obviously, Elam would have been available, so hindsight is 20/20 or whatever. I hope Vaccaro pans out, but Jones should have been at 15 or a trade back.
