Yes. The NFL made this rule knowing they could use it years down the road to frick the Saints. They plan way ahead.

They'll be 1-8 and in absolutely zero hurry to rush him back.

That's what I am hoping, too. If they are 100% out of it, then they might shut him down. A hamstring to a beast WR isn't worth pushing.

ESPN’s Kevin Seifert believes Justin Jefferson (hamstring) “won’t feel rushed” to return from injured reserve.
Seifert said if Jefferson is not 100 percent healed by the end of his four-week stint on injured reserve, the star wideout could miss more time. That the Vikings’ seasons will likely be lost by then is another matter that could influence Jefferson’s return. ESPN’s Adam Schefter suggested Tuesday that Jefferson might not return to the field if the Vikings’ season is lost by November. In the meantime, KJ Osborn and Jordan Addison will function as the team’s top receivers.

Yeah I doubt he plays again this season unless they figure out on a way to get on a massive win streak.

Since he hasn’t gotten his big contract and the team continues to struggle he may shut it down for the year.

Would be interesting if the Vikings would trade Cousins to the NY Jets

He probably won’t play again this year.
