Vikings at Saints on 9/9/10 seems VERY likely (new insight)

According to PFT, Ron Jaworski is saying that ESPN has requested Steelers at Ravens for ESPN's Week 1 Monday Night Football doubleheader.

That means that (if granted) the Vikings are the only realistic option for the league to place opposite the Saints on Thursday Night Kickoff 9/9/10. An argument could be made for Atlanta but I think the NFC Championship rematch has a LOT more drawing power.

So the odds of Vikings @ Saints in Week 1 just went from about 50% to about 90%.

We need to start hoping that the Starcaps suspensions are laid down for Week 1.

It would suck if the Vikings bitch asses are still getting bailed out by that liberal judge and we're minus Will Smiff.

know what you mean, but would much rather play the Williams wall with smith and have him for the next 3.

Our home schedule is absolute shite next year.

3 good games (really 2 if Favre retires).

I wish our entire schedule was shite then.
Pile up those wins!

Really though, I like watching arse-whippings in person. I'll concede, it's that much sweeter when it's the Pats or G-Men, but I'll take a cake-walk win any day.

Oh, and I really hope Favre retires... After this season, I truly cannot stand the Vikings.

Looks like Favre won't be finishing the 2010 season.

there is 0% chance of this situation happening. The league will not allow only certain players to serve suspensions from the same round of tests while others do not serve.

the commissioner has said this before.

If he takes a beating like he did in the NFCC game, he's gonna have a loooong season ahead of him.

If that was going to happen it would already have happened. What happens to the Williams will happen to all of the Star Caps guys.

The only reason Smith and Grant weren't suspended last year was the league wanting consistency and choosing not to.

Why would ESPN get dibs on the Steelers if NBC asked for them too?

The whole Steelers/Vikings thing was based on whether Favre returns. It looks like Favre will be just as likely as Big Ben now.

Saints vs Tavaras Jackson led Vikings >>>>>> Saints vs. Dennis Dixon led Steelers.

Im gonna go ahead and say this may be the deciding factor if Favre comes back or not. If the Vikqueens plays us first next year I bet he dont play after the beating he is still feeling today from the last time.

Agreed. The NFL already set the precedent for this last year with the same case. Either they'll all play or they'll all be suspended.
