it's like we sold our soul for '09 and now anytime we get close the devil comes back and we suffer some kinda stupid, absolutely heartbreaking loss to keep us out of the SB
ETA: and as if to hammer the point home... the team that beats us via the stupid shenanigans ends up getting smacked the next game
so 49ers didn't get smacked in the '11-'12 NFC Championship game... but they lost in OT at home to wild card team New York Giants (the Giants team that ended up beating the 18-0 Patriots)
Vikings got manhandled 38-7 by the eventual SB Champ Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game
and of course... ole Los Angeles 3 points in the Super Bowl last season

That’s what I was thinking, each of those playoff losses in those years were beyond brutal
