That’s the thing. When you come in here and contradict what literally every one else is reporting, yes, you do have to justify it.

That’s the thing, no I really don’t. This is why I don’t leak shite on twitter any more and I guess I won’t say shite here either.

People can talk shite on Benson because of the shite after Katrina, buy it really doesn't bother me.
First, nobody knew what would happen with the city and the done. One thing Blanco did right is get the money and plan to rebuild the dome. She deserves tons of credit for that.
Second, Benson had a product to sell. San Antonio wanted to buy. He could take come out and say we aren't moving.... If he did that then he isn't selling out the stadium and getting money to play in San Antonio the rest of the year. We don't know what goes on behind the scenes.
Benson had his faults but he seemed to be a good man although a shrewd business man. But that is what .akes a guy like him go from nothing to a multibillionaire.

Save for GB, NFL teams cannot be owned by a juridical person in whole or in part.

I was told it is as close to the GB situation as the NFL would allow. TIFWIW
The NFL also forbids religious groups and the archdiocese was specifically mentioned as an entity that would greatly benefit.
frick if I know. I know what I was told and who told it to me.

RIP Tom. Thank you for keeping the Saints in New Orleans!

Those of you who feel the need to bring up the Katrina situation, do you feel better now?
We all remember what happened.
Benson wasn't perfect, and no one is saying he was.
What he was, was a very positive force for the city and state.
And his legacy will continue that.
He wasn't a white knight, but he did a lot for us.
He deserves to be remembered for that.

When an Elderly checks into a hospital with flu like symptoms...its over. Told my wife when he was admitted to Ocshner it was likely the end. Sure enough it's a sad day now. Will miss you Mr Benson. Will always be grateful for the Saints Superbowl you helped bring the City and fans. Rest in Peace.

You have tried to have “inside info” on here before. You have failed each time. This will be no different.
what else has he gotten wrong?

Its been mostly about the timing of a signing. The one that I remember best is Drew from 2012.
Honestly, it doesn't matter.
In the past, I've always like when people that had "inside info" as they were probably know someone in the organization but the info changed for whatever reason.
jeebus, i call truce. Don't stop bringing in info because I didn't believe you or you may have been wrong (for whatever reason).
There was one guy that said Colston would miss some time due to an injury. That poster got crucified to only later be 100% correct.

I don’t think it sounds that far fetched. Maybe it won’t be ownership like greeen bay but I think it will come out that there will be some variables with this new ownership. It’s a lot to ask of Gail to own 2 teams and I’d guess even Tom wouldn’t want to burden her with that.

Leaving the team to Lauscha or someone else would incur a massive tax bill for the recipient they probably wouldn't be able to pay.
That ain't happening, but Lauscha is going to be a key player.
No one wants either team to move.
