Why is the sky falling around you all over the Board? There’s more legitimate smoke that DW becomes a Saint than there is he becomes a Dirty Turd. Lots of moving parts involved here, this is a very unusual situation. And in the big picture this isn’t “dragging out” when you consider all the factors involved.

The fact the Saints have cleared cap space to be $30m under is a HUGE indication they are the team. No team clears that much space below the cap 4 days into FA. And they’re not doing it without some information in their favor. He’ll be a Saint.

There is an equal amount of smoke that it is ATL, considering we had to meet him a second time AFTER he personally got ATL involved and met them in ATL.

They still have to sign a QB if Watson goes to ATL. They also need an OT. The space is useful, regardless of Watson.
And, I'm not being negative, just real. The Saints have done their job...space is created....Houston has agreed to trade comp....whats the holdup for?

I'm not getting all caught up in the drama. He wasn't on the roster last year. If he's on there this year great if not oh well. Time to find the qb of the future.

We didn’t have to. Maybe it was to finalize things, or just a smart move by the Saints to get the last visit. The CGJ “smoke” is telling also. Get excited, he’s a Saint!

CGJ is an emotional dude. He may have heard he was offered in a trade package and took it personally.

You don’t clear $30m 4 days into FA unless something big is up. No coincidence they need $35m in space and cleared millions in a single morning of restructures. The addl dollars will be made up with the outgoing salary.

From Dan Graziano video this morning. I’m paraphrasing:

The Saints aren't creating $30m in cap space unless they know something. Said they will have to absorb his $35m cap figure for 24 hours then can be restructured. (The extra $5m in space is likely covered by outgoing players.)

The restructured contract would lower the $35m cap hit to create room for other players. It's happening.

You discount the fact that Watson could have changed his mind. Perhaps he told them last night he was in, they make all the moves and inform CGJ, but then has a change of heart and decides on ATL (hence the Pitts tweet).

Dbag move, but not unprecedented.

Why do people get upset about others having another opinion or take on this? It’s like y’all get triggered if others have doubts. Those doubts are very reasonable

Lol, not triggered! Trying to get some positivity flowing! I’ve got concerns, but sharing positive stuff, much of what exists re: Saints chances. Get ready to party with the Lombardi, Saints fans!
