You think Myles Garret would have stuck around if they weren’t picking a QB? The Jayden Daniels effect is real.

This is the game I feel like they are playing. It’s pretty clear they’d move for a haul. Could also seeing them drop down to the browns to allow them to get ward then try to drop again to raiders, giants for sanders and get whatever elite player was left plus the picks.

Possibly, but browns going to stay out. No reason to move one spot unless they really want Ward and other teams are offering to trade up for Ward.

No smoke on Browns coveting Ward and they already spent a lot of resources and time on QB - they may not want to try again.

Giants/raiders more likely but same concept applies. Raiders like geno and giants already burned chasing QB.

Dunno. Theyve seen the direct result of investing in QB and failing and investing in DE and thriving. Mayfield then Watson.

Imagine Adul Carter and Garrett. Or do they go Hunter? These guys are hard to pass up.

That guy is done and this seems like a complete oversimplification of the process. They still don’t have the most important position in sports and they’re number 2 overall.

Having your qb in a rookie contract really the only way to offset that the overpay at this point. If anyone is trading up for him I’d say they’re easily the favorite. Would make total sense for Tenn too if they’re not sold on ward as they would pick up the 2nd pick of the 2nd round (plus) and still potentially get the guy they prefer

There are more and more people suggesting a browns move up. Hell they held a workout for the guy in Miami with their owner in attendance.

Def a possibility, but I think they would stay put than pay to move up a spot.

If Titans go with Hunter or Abdul Carter then they take Ward at no 2, of course theyre going to hold a private workout for all three of the clear top prospects (ward/hunter/abdul carter).

There is a not a ton of smoke re: Sanders to Cleveland either. I doubt they want him - they seem prime to take Hunter/Carter.

If anything the Browns have played quiet thus far. No true tells given, or smoke for that matter.

Dart would be a wasted pick because him and rattler are what and what.

Dart, Sanders, Ward were all much better players than Rattler in college.

Facts. Rattler actually kinda had shite numbers in college, but wow’d folks with arm talent. He’s a nice backup, but I dont see Rattler as the guy.

Someone said mcnabb or roethlisberger, which I thought was fair (aside from ward being more accurate).

Yup. Def good comps. What is interesting is say then, Tenn goes Ward and Shedeur is there at 4. Do the saints trade up or see if he drops.

If Wards there at 4 (assuming sheduer goes 1, etc) Saints are safe bet to trade up.

I wonder if we see Shedeur as just as good, or sit.

You just never know with Jimmy Haslam. He isn't very football savvy & has a history of sabotaging his own franchise. He forced Hue Jackson to draft Johnny Manziel because a homeless guy told Haslem that Manziel was the best QB in that draft. Hue Jackson also wanted to take Deshaun Watson originally for the Browns in the 2017 draft. Jackson had even texted Watson on draft day to be ready. Haslam again interfered. That kinda worked out with them getting Myles Garrett but later Haslam over corrected himself trading for Watson later & giving him that ridiculous contract.

Rattler's 2020 stats at Oklahoma are comparable to both Dart & Ward's 2023 numbers. 2021 is when Caleb Williams arrived on campus which brought about a bunch of behind the scenes drama between Rattler, Williams & Lincoln Riley. After 2021, Rattler transfers to South Carolina into a more run game based offense under Shane Beamer, his numbers went down somewhat.

Mayfield didn't fail the Browns. The shitshow that is Jimmy Haslam failed Baker Mayfield. Injuries that he tried to play through hampered him as well. The Browns had 3 different head coaches & 3 different offensive coordinators in the 4 years Baker was there. 4 head coaches if you count interim head coach Gregg Williams in 2018.

There was no stability whatsoever in Cleveland while Baker was there. Yet even in all that chaos, people forget Baker lead the Browns to the playoffs in 2020 that included the Browns going on the road to Pittsburgh & winning a shoot out 48-37 where Baker played well. The Browns then lost a close game the next week in Kansas City.

Same goes for his one season in Carolina. 2 head coaches in one season there. Matt Rhule & Steve Wilkes along with a really shitty roster that lacked talent at receiver & offensive line. Baker has finally found stability with a better run organization in Tampa & that is why he is finally thriving there.

Did I miss something here? Did Caleb Williams have a bad rookie season? Jayden was the winner in that class clearly but Williams was not exactly bad for a rookie.

Held onto the ball far too long.
Couldn't throw with anticipation
Had the yips

All things that should be fixable, but his first half stretch was really really mediocre.

He def showed some promise, the media was a little hard on him.

Jayden/Bo playing so well made it seem worse.

Bryce young flopped, until he say and came back.

I wouldnt say Williams flopped - more loke showed promise, but uninspired at times, jury still out etc.

Guys like Daniels are an anomaly for a rookie QB. Williams was not bad for a rookie. He has plenty of room to grow.

Nawww.

Browns owner went on record yesterday saying they were unlikely to move up, and that there’s talent to select where theyre at.

LINK

quote:

Berry told a small contingent of Cleveland media members that it was "unlikely" the team would trade up to No. 1 overall to select the top quarterback in the class, Miami's Cam Ward.

quote:

Cleveland's top executive did add that "anything is possible," and he's known to never slam the door on any potential move up or down the draft. That said his comments certainly suggest that an aggressive move to No. 1 is likely not in the cards for the Browns.

If the browns are out the picture/not going QB, then the Giants/Raiders are the teams that truly go QB, but raiders seem to like Geno.

Giants, who knows. Wilson isnt it, but their coach seems like he’d go all in on Wilson to save his job.

It would be extremely ignorant for him or anyone in the organization to say that they want to move up in the draft.
