No it makes sense, but makes those people making the decisions look like the idiots they are.
Moore and Loomis thought we could compete this year. That's why we acquired Cooks, Reid, Vele, etc.

I don't know if that will be the case but some posters here think that a QB change is all we're missing to start winning games. I'm curious if Shough sucks, then what? There's no QB worth drafting next year in the 1st rd.

Just look around at how this team is currently playing. There aren't any playmakers at WR or TE that can make life easier for a QB especially an inexperienced one.
Secondly, the run game isn't great at all. Having a good run would take some pressure off but it simply isn't there.
Lastly, the line struggles in pass pro & with penalties. Shough is gonna consistently be long down & distances just like Rattler has been. Not an ideal situation for a rookie QB who lacks talent at the skill positions. Defensive coordinators are not going to hold back. Shough isn't going to be seeing the bland, uncreative defenses he saw in the preseason. He's going to be confused with coverage looks & the line will continue to be taken advantage of with line stunts & blitzes.

Cooks was just an absolute stupid signing for this team. I’m hoping a contender has a bad injury and maybe they take him off our hands before the deadline. Maybe we can get a 5th back if they are desperate.
Reid was a good signing, just not for this team, we not competing and in cap hell. We should only have signed guys out the bargain bin, like Blackmon. One year cheap prove it deals. Probably could have got Marcus Williams back on a similar deal.
Instead we pay cooks and Reid like what 18 million a year in combined salary? It’s crazy.
