Think Lamar jackson will be traded?

Monken is new Baltimore OC. I'm not sure why Baltimore moved on from Roman, who seems to be a great fit for Lamar

No. They will find out if he will play under the tag. If not they will sign him for a crazy sum and move on.
A trade would involve high multiple picks but more important a 300+ million dollar contract. Who is ready for all that?

I think if Baltimore wanted to resign him, they would have by now. Clearly they don't think he will last long enough to be worthy of a massively guaranteed contract. They probably have more information about it than anyone else as well so I assume he probably has some real damage to his body that won't age well.
I think it would be dumb to give up a ton of picks and massive contract guarantees for him like Russell Wilson but I'll bet there is a team dumb enough to do it.

He wants what, or more, than Deshaun Watson got from Cleveland. From his perspective that is understandable. He is a former MVP and, at least to my knowledge, does not have a harem of rub-and-tug mistresses out there waiting to sue him. Jackson can legitimately make the argument he is better than Watson.
But...from a franchise perspective I would be hesitant to give a guy who, at least to some significant degree is reliant on his running ability, a massive long term contract. Even if Jackson stays healthy the rest of the way it seems likely that running threat will diminish over the course of the contract simply as a matter of him getting older. Meaning, does he become the next Cam Newton. MVP in 2015 to essentially out of the NFL in his early 30's
I think the Ravens will franchise him. Either they get a highly motivated Jackson for one (albeit very expensive) season and decide what to do after that. Or, he decreases his market value next year and they are able to sign him to more team friendly terms. Of course, he could always hold out if they franchise him...but that would be leaving a LOT of money on the table.

This will be a fun one to watch play out. Early reports were saying that the team & Lamar were $100M in guarantees away from getting an extension done. Which means if they can't get a deal done they can tag him for a 1 year deal at $32M, but a team could still sign him for 2 first round picks (which would be a bargain). They also have the option to placing an exclusive tag to avoid anyone trying to sign him, but that would cost them $45M for 1 year.
And, in 2024 they will be in the exact same position.
FYI, Balt is currently $26M under the cap, so they'd need to clear $6-20M to tag him. But could you imagine a team like the Saints busting in signing him and Balt would only get a late 1st this year and next year's pick would most likely be a late pick too
Lamar's talent would easily have the Saints as one of the better 3-4 teams in the NFC.

Monken can tap into Lamar's strengths in his offense. I'd argue his is more tailor made for Lamar's strengths than Roman's was.

Lamar would be a steal for the Ravens if you just get him to play on the franchise tag the next two years. He is a guy that will get injured.
