The whole defensive coaching staff should go.

Yeah, yeah, yeah I know all about it takes time and this was the first year under this staff, but that doesn't fly. This defense didn't improve one bit from start to finish.
There were no adjustments in schemes or personnel even though the team was giving up yards faster than a hooker giving out business cards at a bachelor party.
BTW...half the players on defense should be on the waiver wire as ASAP.
What a joke!

I thought they began to improve toward the end of the year except for today

And back in the real world...
You can't make wholesale changes like that in the NFL. I'm not a fan of Spags, but I don't think we should fire him. Who is available and better? Rex Ryan? Ron Rivera?
And we have some players to build around. Lofton, Jordan, Greer, Hicks, Bunkley and Harper are a solid core. We need a pass rushing OLB/DE and a few upgrades.
I think we still have 4-5 years of prime Drew Brees years, especially if Ingram can start to carry the load a little. Think Elway, Favre and Young later in their careers.

I'm sure having a new DC and 5 or 6 new defensive starters would be a recipe for success next year.

hahah, I thought the same thing when I read his post. When I got to that sentence, I was like, "Oh geez, really man?"

Our Safeties are bad. Harper is a liability in coverage, and Jenkins isn't that much better.
Our Dline can't rush the passer or stop the run. So idk what they do out there besides suck up our air.

I know right?
I will say I was a bit puzzled when they kept Bill Johnson on the staff when Spags came in. Our D-Line has been under performing for years.

I've been saying this about Bill Johnson for a while. His job is to evaluate D-line talent and when they get here, develop them and get them to play. Yet year after year our D line disappoints. At some point the blowtorch needs to aimed in his direction. I say give him one more year with Spags and see what they can do, otherwise can his arse.

I could be down with some position coach changes.
But Spags is going nowhere.

Nor should he. His D was completely different than what we were running before and they needed a season to learn his system, plus overall they got better as the season went on. With SP in charge, next year could be special.

You were never alone. I was there the entire time!

Yeah we should start all over again and implement yet another brand new system and waste another year of Brees' prime. Great idea.
