We are not making the playoffs.

I wish I was wrong, but 3 teams will not come out of the NFC South. Not happening.

We'll finish 8-8ish and miss the playoffs. Then we'll be drafting right around 15.

I still say to trade Brees.

As long as drew don't suffer anymore setbacks then he will get better every week.

If the Saints win their last 9 games in a row a-la 1987, AND the Panthers finish the season 5-5 or worse, AND the Falcons finish the season 6-3 or worse, the Saints get to host a playoff game.

If anything when the time comes, I could see them allowing Brees to retire from playing and becoming an assistant coach. I could see him tutoring and developing the offense and particularly the backfield.

If only the NFC South sucked like it was supposed to.

You could be very very wrong. I see Minnesota and Seattle being factors for the wildcard. Philadelphia will not finish with a better record than us.

For who? And who do you wan to draft?

I don't really care about that, myself. But your point is somewhat valid for a big segment of our fanbase, I know.

I look at it like this: I've been through the Jim Mora Years. They were nice because they didn't suck. But you know what else sucked? Being above average every single year and having nothing to show for it. I would prefer a couple of years of "blowup and rebuild" than 3 or 4 years of the status quo and being 6-10 to 9-7 and never getting to the next level.

It's always misinterpreted, but the "trade Brees" rationale makes sense if you know you're in Salary Cap Hell and have no other assets to dump to build for the future. People act like it's disrespectful but it's not. I think Brees is the best thing that ever happened to the Saints. But if we need to dump him to help rebuild and we can send him to a place that he's cool with and he can win now, I don't see why not. I woudn't trade him to the Texans. And if he wins big one time somewhere else, good for him. But you know what? He'd be the first QB to win a Super Bowl with a second team in his twilight.

Well..if we're not making the playoffs the time would be now. He's shown he is still playing well and we would get a better offer than if he was playing bad or showing a lingering injury like early in the season.

Rob Ryan is not the answer. With that said I want to keep Brees, hope for restructure on salary, and let it ride for a couple more years. He's still better than a lot of qb's and if we get rid of him look forward to years of disappointment with a rookie qb or back up.

Trading Brees would be about on par with breaking up with Melanie Iglesias

Sure, you might get laid again, but it'll never be the same or as good as it once was....

We won't trade Brees. As long as Payton is in New Orleans, Brees is there.
