I have suffered through Jerry Romig's shitty PA work for well over two decades. People may love him because he's a "legend" . . . that term must be meaningless . . . but he annoys the everloving crap out of me. He's really not very good.

When I watch the Saints games on TV here in Texas, I can faintly hear Jerry's voice just under the idiots that are annoucing the game. Hearing his voice reminds me of the times I had the benefit of seeing the Saints live in the Dome back in the 70's. He's a legend.

Who cares about 3rd party non-Saints fans? This is a Saints board. I love Jerry. He has done it forever. He is part of the experience of seeing a game at the Dome.

as a Saints fan and someone who goes to the games... I dont understand how one could not enjoy whay Jerry adds to the experience.

You're not alone. I've asked people who sit in my section at the games and a few friends from time to time. It comes down to around 50/50 like/dislike.

I can see being apathetic about him, but how is he awful? He could be one of those jackasses that say "Another New Orleans Saints FIRST DOWN!" like the guy for the Panthers. I enjoy him.

He is an acquired taste. not literally. But once you get use to him, he is very unique. I will agree that he doesnt have your typical voice. I also love when he says Colston.

Just trying to give some perspective, tard. And it does matter because sometimes people can't see the truth behind their biased eyes (in this case, ears)
I don't dislike him, he is just kinda meh to me though.

You are fricking stupid. This makes no sense. Since when is opinion truth? So, a non Saints fan who goes to a game and hears him maybe once and says he is annoying is the truth? Better yet, a Saints fan who has been going to the games for over 20 years or so says he is an icon while an equally dedicated fan says he sucks? Those are all matters of opinion, not truth. Get a clue.

He's had the job a long time, but that doesn't make him legendary, just well connected.

It's pretty obvious he's isn't that good of a PA guy. The fact that this thread even exists proves that. If you compared him with the 31 other NFL PA announcers to random sample of 100 fans they'd probably rank him near the bottom I'd imagine. I don't even dislike him but I believe that's the truth. It's my opinion - ergo my truth.
Is your voice similar to his or something?? I already said I don't have a problem with it FWIW.
