Would you have needed to actually interview Ben Johnson if you wanted him to offer the job?

KK could have been the favorite internally, we just didn’t get the opportunity to formally interview….or it could be total bullshite floated out there by his agent.

I’m mostly saying Nick isn’t the be all end all , case closed source because he’s bought and paid for

Ben Johnson and KK are a horrible comparison.

I don’t give a shite about Underhill. It’s fricking idiotic to believe in a report where we offered a guy that didn’t interview ANYWHERE. It’s clear his agent leaked this to save face, just like the Joe Brady dropping out, McCarthy, etc. Guys have known for a while it’s Moore

Classic example of a player elevating a coach. JD is making KK $ somewhere soon BUT glad it’s not in NO.

but they never even made a second request to interview after he shut down his process and never talked to him.

Won't even make a legit effort to interview the guy they were going to hire "sight unseen"

I actually saw an article about this 2-3 weeks ago. Maybe it was less mainstream than the guy that tweeted it.

I tend to believe it. He is a great offensive mind, but he didn’t want to leave Jayden and he’s already made quite a bit of money in the past.

I see a lot of people acting like Moore was our first choice and that scared people off vs them wanting other jobs or to stay in their current situations with amazing QB’s. Idk if we will ever know that to be true. He probably was in our tier 1 group wish list along with Brady, Klingsbury, Ben Johnson.

It’s okay to admit that maybe the Saints didn’t get their first choice, but it’s still a good choice and could and should work out better than a last resort Darren Rizzi hire.

So no interview, nothing? Just like an open invite?

He’d come here and fail, his coaching career would be over

You think Brady wouldn't have come here knowing he had the job?

Maybe since he coached in Carolina, he knows what a failing franchise looks like.

Right now, coaching the saints is the equivalent to coaching the Browns, Panthers, Jets.... You could maybe throw the Giants into the list too.

You mean the team that fired him?

That’s a bit of a stretch…

It’s one of 32 jobs in the nation, and would’ve had his salary tripled and say so of an NFL franchise…

Hell, Sean Payton came here after Katrina, you mean to tell me the team is in worse shape than after that…? Don’t give that BS of a failing franchise. Any coach would take that job. Moore was already in for the job and they all knew it.
