The Lattimore issue

Do we know what put Lattimore on the bench for the OT drive? I'm still baffled how any player would not be on the field for that moment unless it was a serious injury. Stunned actually. Latt out; PRob in; Thielen catches ball inside the 5.
There are more issues with Lattimore than this. Yes he is a great player, but he is sometimes inconsistent. He played quite poorly against Minn, and we saw that in the beginning of the season as well. Same thing happened last year to start the season. He has tons of talent, but his propensity to take plays off here and there as well as come into a game completely out of focus is a problem.
Still nothing is as big of a problem as him sitting the bench on the most important defensive drive of the game.
I am currently on the fence with his future on this team after his rookie deal is done. My concern is that once he gets his big contract he will become even more erratic with his game. The guy is a true shutdown corner, but he isn't shutting anything down when his head isn't in it.

Once again Marcus Williams just wildly flung his body into a player. It happened to be our own this time.

Crazy how as soon as you see him you know they are about to go at him.
I’m disappointed that the veteran guy was bought in to step up in these situations. Did in philly came back to New Orleans we got the same old P rob
Cut his arse same issue he had when he left came back to bite us. Too inconsistent and gets burned over top. Bad draft pick

Helmet to helmet with Marcus Williams.

Damn. Was he concussed? Was this part of the rules that he isn't allowed to go back on the field until he finishes tests? When did that occur? In the stands it's difficult to know everything going on injury wise, so we missed some of these things

lattimore is either lockdown or toast. his lows are very low. he needs to bring it every game, but he doesn't. I like him as a player, but he's hard to like sometimes

I agree. He could be lockdown for an entire season, but his head leaves the game at times. Then if he gets frustrated the problems compound.
I don't know if this can be fixed or not. I hope so, because he is a great player. I am concerned that once he gets his first big contract then his focus will be history.

His ankle got rolled up on. He was trying to walk it off and at the last minute had to run hobble off the field. Patrick Robinson came running on and I knew immediately where that ball was going.
For the life of me I can’t figure out why we didn’t have safety help and if we did what Marcus Williams was thinking.
It wasn’t an effort issue for Lattimore, he was trying to play through it.

Fair enough. I asked, because I didn't know and haven't seen anyone talking about it. Eases my concern with him on that drive at least

It wasn’t Williams. The Minnesota player rolled up on his foot/ankle

It's so fricking frustrating to see that happen because you could see it from a mile away

This is literally every great corner. No one is perfect 100% of the time. The question is what's the ratio? It's clearly not 50/50.... so what is it? If it's 80/20 or better, who replaces that?

As others said, he got rolled up by the Vikes player.
Stop shitting on Robinson. The coverage was fine. It was a perfect throw.
Williams had deep help but got looked off by Cousins.
Cousins just happened to make the most clutch throw of his career against us. We have shite luck.
I heard a breakdown of the play by Greg Cossel and he said the coverage wasn't bad.

We’d spend another 10 years trying to find a CB as good as Lattimore. Played bad against Vikings and first game or 2 of season. Overall he’s been a really good CB

Can he fall off like Richard Sherman? Yes. If we let him go, can he find his place in another team and make us regret it? Yes.
If you want to go in that direction, your best bet is to let him go and draft another CB just as high as we drafted him; which we probably wont unless we trade up or have a shitty year to get a high pick.
With all that said, just sign him.

I was at the game on the side of the field he ran off from. He came out grabbing at his leg and he was visibly pissed off. He absolutely wasn’t subbed out or anything.

They showed the replay of Lattimore getting his ankle rolled up on. It did not look good, I dont blame him for going to the sidelines for that.
