I'm old enough to remember watching the final interview he did the night y'all whacked him.

Yes the Saints know Collins, teammates, coaches in HS & college better than other teams.

My guy that traveled with him to Chicago stayed in Chicago. I will send you pics of his crew at the draft. I will text him & see if he has spoken to Lael.

I think it's the best fit if he comes to New Orleans.
They can say they know him well from being so close to LSU coaches and scouts and claim to have inside sources with the PD, yada yada. So the PR hit can be minimalized to some extent.
And while he's playing for less than he should be, he will be close to home and protecting a HOF quarterback so it benefits him

@AdamSchefter: La'el Collins and his reps have decided if he's not selected tonight he will not sign a contract with a team and will renter draft next year

that's dumb.
he would be a free agent, FREE to choose anywhere he wanted to go and could get fair asking price as well. there would be a bidding war if he is cleared

If he is in undrafted free-agent the team he signs with has to fit his contract under their rookie pool limitations
Posted on 5/1/15 at 4:34 pm to Chad504boy
Trying to verify if this is true. If so, I think it is silly to communicate that.

Just smoke from his agent trying to goad someone into taking him.
He'll sign if he isn't drafted. They all do.

His fair asking price would be that of a UDFA. That's all he'll get. End of story.
What he'll do instead is hold out in 2 years when he outplays his contract.

Well, we're either picking him in 2 or 3 or not getting him at all.
From @PrioritySports: La'el Collins won't sign with a team and will wait for next year's draft if he's not selected tonight (Rds 2-3)

If he's not drafted tonight there are 3 more rounds tomorrow. I think they mean he will not accept being a late round pick and being stuck with the accompanying contract for 4 years. I agree with him. He'll make more money commensurate to his value if he does this
