I did not say that would take Collins at 31 yesterday
You sure about that chief?
This isn't about questioning your integrity or questioning that you are lying about what you are hearing. This is about the source you have not being high enough to know full truths and complete pictures. Obviously the draft is extremely fluid but you are being told and have repeated bold statements that didn't come through

A reliable source told me the Saints would take him at 31.I just texted to verify that is still true.

I will give anyone 4-1 odds that Collins does not last through the 5th.

Again all my Saints source info was wrong. Can't wait to see the guy. Maybe he was messing with me because I said they were idiots for trying to trade up to Beasley at 7.
Will be interesting to see if my Collins source is right. He claims 12 teams still in on Collins just trying to understand where he will go.

i think this would be a "win" for him if this comes to fruition

The problem is the draft is too fluid to ever predict. He very well could've been giving you accurate info, but things are constantly changing. Also he may not be getting the full story himself depending on his rank and duties. Plus the team likes to put out misinformation and could very well be using people in the staff to do just that.

The problem is that since Beasley went the Falcons - I cannot see Payton admitting wanting him. Yeah the guy is lower level; I told Chad that. He promises the Saints will take Collins at some point. Ireland & Payton's comments seem to validate that but who knows.
Again I was against trading up.

I do think we will take him in the 3rd if he is there. Payton's comments support this. I doubt they risk a 2nd on him though.
I am on the fence with this. If he is a murderer, then whoever drafts him is a complete a-hole. If he isn't, I feel terrible for the guy and hate that he is going through this. I really can't decide which way I want it to go

The thing people forget is the Saints know him very well. The fact he has never been in trouble also helps. Hard to pass at 78 on a huge upgrade at LG especially after Payton's comments about not moving Peat, Streif or Armstead.

Re La'el Collins, agents are putting him on the phone with as many teams as possible to try to clear his name, explain situation.

they can try and explain whatever they want IMO. until the teams know what the BRPD is thinking or why they are interested in collins from their point of view, i see limited benefits.

True.
The chance to give a presser, hold your ground and not look or act guilty has passed.

Plus you can never really know a person who is capable of something like murdering a pregnant woman in cold blood. They say Ted Bundy was totally charming and all of the women he murdered went with him willingly. What's the first thing the neighbors say on camera when the guy next door gets arrested for murder? "we had no idea! he was so quiet... he mostly kept to himself. He seemed so nice."
