Taysom Hill Appreciation and discussion

This has been discussed plenty, but he was simply incredible out there on Sunday. I simply can't recall any other player who goes on the field and can literally do everything football-related on a professional level. He is an NFL level receiver, an NFL level rusher, and an NFL level (though probably not NFL elite) passer. I haven't done any research on his performance in short-yardage situations, but just from watching it seems like there is almost no way he can be prevented from gaining two yards. Just a marvel of an athlete.
With that said, I think we should just drop the QB "issue" and let him be what he is - an offensive weapon. He's probably better at passing than any RB/WR in the league, and that's awesome! We'll use that in a way that other teams would call "trick plays," but it won't really be a trick play because he's an NFL level passer. In reality, I know that's what we're doing already, but I think this would get rid of all the perceived issues of "what to do with Taysom."
Maybe I'm wrong and we should just line him up at QB when Drew is gone, but I don't think I am. I would rather see Teddy (or someone better/equivalent) with Taysom in the backfield or out at WR.

I'm in agreement that if he's not the starter he should not be relied upon as the #2 QB.
If he's the #2 on gamedays it limits how aggressive he can be used as a swiss army knife. This was certainly a hidden value of also having Teddy on the Roster

Stat line for a football god right there.
Taysom is what Taysom is. No more, no less.

You're making my point for me dumbass. I never said he had a great statistical game, or that he did anything at QB other than hit on an underthrown bomb. He's not a QB, he's a RB/WR who, as an added bonus, can throw the ball as well as most backup QBs.
Name one player in the league, who is not currently a starting quarterback, who plays QB but is also an NFL level receiver and running back? Not just with "speed," but who can actually get out there and make catches and runs? Pretty much him and Lamar Jackson (who is on a different level obviously)

Hill almost won that game for us. Peyton took the Reigns off and Playoff brees mistake.
At that moment Vikings Did not have a answer for Taysom

I’m kind of in a similar boat. I’m not sure how effective he could be as a full time starter, but he’s too valuable a weapon at 5 other offensive positions + special teams to find out. The dude is dynamic and we just need to find creative ways to get him the ball like we have been. He’s the spark for this team and has been for a couple years now

You really are dumb. The Saints hired him as a quarterback, and they are paying him millions of dollars. He is quite literally a professional quarterback. I stated some opinions in my post, but that is not one of them, that is a fact. You seem like the kind of guy who argues with someone who says the sky is blue.

Teams will scheme for him unless we have other weapons.
Plus an oline.
If we have O line protection, there is no other quarterback I trust more than Brees.
The Secondary defense has lost the Saints big games on last plays. Defense usually gives it up, I never trust them on 3rd and long or 4th and long anymore.
..hell, solid players would have nullified and snuffed the minnesota miracle. We advance.
2011, we stop a 4th and long. We advance.
No such term as beastmode is ever coined, and we advance.
2018. We got fricked. Should have advanced.
Last sunday. They dont get the big play to a scrub QB/WR combo. We advance.

I’m interested in seeing what his new contract is going to look like when this one runs out
Will he stay or go after a full time QB job elsewhere assuming CSP wants to keep using him as a weapon?

quote:The sky is blue and Taysom Hill is not what you're making him out to be. Love the guy but if he were a real professional QB he'd have a job as one right now. He may be listed as QB3 on Sean's depth chart but if you believe for one second that he's got a chance to get the keys to this or any other franchise (the real definition of "professional quarterback") then you're in for a letdown. Tay Tay is what he is...fun to watch. Every time he takes a snap I hold my breath because it's either gonna be fantastic or a wasted play.

Uh, noooo. The 'wasted play' was what happened right after Hill ran through the entire Vikings team to get the Saints down into the red zone...
It's easy to say now, but I think he could have taken a sideline screen into the end zone on the next play...

That Brees fumble was the most pivotal moment of the game.
