I know QB is a need but who is going pro that's NFL ready? There are no Burrows or TLs or even Caleb WIlliams type players. Let Spencer have another year of dev, we're stuck with Carr for another year anyway. If we suck again, draft a QB next year high.

This would be an excellent choice, but it'll never be made by the current regime.

Pick up a franchise LT in this year's draft, give him next year to work on his run-blocking and get his other skills up to NFL levels with Rattler and/or Carr, and then see where we are at the end of '25 to decide on what pieces we need next.

No way around it, the next few years it's gonna suck to be a Saints fan. Maybe not to the level of the Aints, but at some point we have to embrace the need to blow it all up and start the rebuild.

I've been told several times that we're going to suffer with cap hell for a few years yet regardless of what we do with players or contracts. So, make the best of it and look at the rest of '24 and '25 as rebuilding years. Strive for improvement, not perfection, and start to build the team of the future.

I'd be okay with that.

Tackle is probably the last position we need to draft.
Tackle is exactly the position we need to draft for - assuming we can get a good one (and, admittedly, our last few OL draft picks were "meh" at best).

We're going to suck next year anyway, so bring in a promising tackle and give him a year to get up to NFL speed before looking to draft a franchise QB. That's how we're going to - eventually - get out of the mile-deep hole we're in right now.

You don’t tank for linemen. You tank for a franchise QB.
Name one QB that you'd call "franchise" level that'll be available in the next draft.

Nothing? Okay, then look for a franchise OT that can protect your QB of the future when you finally get him. It generally takes a year or so for a good LT to get up to speed in the NFL, and next year is likely to suck anyway, so now is as good a time as any to start building an OL for the future. If you draft him high enough you get a 5th-year rookie option on the contract, which would really help us during the rebuild that I suspect (hope?) is coming.

That’s fine if you flat out suck and can’t help tanking.

I would NOT intentionally tank just to try to pick up an offensive tackle.

We just drafted a franchise LT. Why would we waste another top 10 pick on one. Penning has been serviceable at RT. Hopefully he keeps improving.

I’d say we need to draft a guard in the 2nd or third round. And defensive player or receiver in the first.

If you haven't noticed, the Saints are tanking without trying to tank.

Fuaga has played RT most of his career in college. Penning is a guard. You move PEnning to guard and move Fuaga over and boom, bookend tackles and a serviceable guard when our OL isn't very good right now.
