In another spat about Sean I see, you think ur the one being reasonable and fair but you’re actually downing the Saints franchise and pumping up Sean Payton. It’s clear you have some kind of affiliation/fetish with him. So are you a saints fan or not?

Bunch of immature children in here. Dont get the hate for payton. He helped build the few great seasons we’ve had. Just appreciate what he did, and move on. Ill root for denver when they arent playing against us

When we don’t own any of their draft picks then I won’t give a damn about Sean or Denver, until then they can lose all their games

Its a second round pick. Honestly you need to chill, we’re not getting a top 5 impact player out of this. Game 1 of the season and you’re more worried about 2024 second round pick than our actual season.

Recent Saints second round picks include:
Isaiah Foskey (TBD)
Pete Werner (starting LB)
Erik McCoy (starting C)
Marcus Williams (six years as a starting S)
Michael Thomas (starter and all-pro)

You have to go back to 2015 to find the last time the Saints drafted a player in the second round who didn’t have a big impact (Kikaha).

ETA: Not drafted by the Saints obviously, but Drew Brees was a second round pick.

Broncos fans are melting on their forum. Payton, who is supposed to be the greatest coach of all time, lost to McDaniels. His Saints kicker, Lutz, lost them the game by leaving 4 points on the field.

But they are really melting over how bad the defense was and Fangio being a dud hire. All I could do is laugh because a Payton calling card is taking years to get the defense right.

I mean he left due to refs cheating us that’s actually a valid point..

Why are we still mad at him?

IDC if it’s a 5th round pick, if it has potential to be a better pick by them losing I will root against him (common sense). I’m done replying to you, it’s pointless

Whats pointless is your incessant hate for a guy who literally turned your franchise around and your constant concern for positioning in the 2nd round of the 2024 draft. Maybe focus on our season and let the man and broncos be.

I said top 5 impact player- basically a franchise guy; and we’re getting the pick regardless. Does positioning on a second round pick matter that much?

Yeah, no difference in the 33rd pick and 60th pick. You’re an idiot.

To the point your obsessed with the broncos losing game one of the season? You’re an idiot. People like you care more about draft positioning and Sean Payton losing than actually cheering the Saints this year. Seriously, get over this shite. I can promise you in Week 1 the Saints front office isn’t even actively having a rooting interest against the Broncos this early.

Someone doesn't remember exactly what kind of team he took over.

He turned a pile of stinking dogshit into a superbowl champion. You loved him then didn't you..

Lol damn. So he gets you a superbowl, franchise qb, competitive years of playoff runs- just curious what are you exactly petty about? That he didnt coach the Saints till he died?

Im downing the Saints- cheering the guy who was the most responsible for our success? Wtf are you saying? That every Saints fan should hate on a coach who turned around this franchise, won a superbowl and made us more competitive than anyone ever? If we’re going against broncos I hate Sean Payton but otherwise I’m not bothered by his success or lack there of. By the way Drew Brees visited Broncos practice? Should we hate on him too? If I’m Brees fan do I have some weird infatuation with him? You’re not a true fan- you’re just a bitter a guy who’s never changed a job in his life and thinks any type of change by anybody is bad.

Why the hate for Payton

Two reasons:

First, he put no effort into looking for a successor to Brees when it would have made sense. Instead, he supported keeping Brees propped up and well-paid until he walked away from the game.

He should have done what Reid and Belichick did - have the replacement already on the roster (or drafted). It wasn't like Brees didn't telegraph that the end was nigh.

And, when Brees finally retired and the Saints were in salary cap hell, instead of sticking around to help clean up the mess he "retired".

So, yeah, he can GTH for that.

Second, I can hate Payton for the sheer fact that he coaches the Donkeys. I've hated that team ever since Elway whined his way out of playing for Baltimore (the Colts, not the Ravens) as a first round pick.

That hate only grew when I moved to KC about 25 years ago, with the Chiefs being my second-favorite team behind my Saints.

Is two reasons enough? I can give you more, if you want.

Second reason is valid.

First reason- I think Sean, Saints organization and some of us on this board thought Jameis was the answer. Obviously everyone was wrong. I don’t know if thats Seans fault and if it is, he still found Brees and won a superbowl- personally that should be enough to give him a pass. We been in salary cap hell for years and lets be honest that doesn’t affect this team and I blame Loomis more than Sean on that. So yeah you can list your other reasons.

My point being with or without Sean we would be in salary cap hell. Thats not on Sean, more on Loomis. But thanks for nitpicking my post lol
