The money is not important, its not like it is ours. Not to mention we can not sign any free agents unless we lose one in the off season. This why we did not bring back McKenzie.

I will say, maybe this is why mysteriously Leisle came down with a knee injury yesterday. They feel comfortable enough with Dline depth to put Leisle on the shelf while singing Deuce for PR purposes.

I don't think the Saints fans need extra motivation, so there's got to be another reason why this happened.

I dont think anybody is actually pissed. I think ppl are baffled. And are wondering why?

If they think he can play, fine. But whose spot is he taking? he cant play Special Teams and we are not carrying 5 backs into Sat.

If he cant play then why? dont say to get a ring because if thats the case the signing is an uncessary distraction.

They can give a ring to whomever they want, he doesn't need to be on the roster.

they cant be comfortable with depth at Dline. It has to be they didnt think they could bring anybody else in and bring them up to par.

Maybe this is what Drew wanted for his birthday, Payton wasn't gonna tell him no.

OK, Leslie wasn't a special teamer, so that's not that bad, but McKenzie would have been a lot better. If fragile Gay or someone goes down, we would only have 3 CBs + Usama.

b/c he is taking up a valuable roster spot

You mean the valuable roster spot from an injured player who would not have been active anyway?

Did not realize you knew him personally. Good for you.

Last season he ran for more ypc, rushing tds, and rushes over 20yrds then bush. He missed the same amount of games and did it with new repaired knees. Great pickup. He is a great blocker as well. With pts ribs and bush always tweaking something (he's missed like 35% of his overall playing time with injuries). Its a great pickup for insurance.

wasting money on a signing bonus, to not activate him would be dumber than actually signing him

And you're concerned about the money why, again? Take a step back and think about what you're saying. We're MILLIONS under the cap, and his prorated salary and bonus for three playoff games is miniscule. He's taking a roster spot from someone who would otherwise be inactive tomorrow.

Surprised by the move but welcome back Deuce!

Can't see all five backs being active tomorrow with everyone basically healthy.

Who the 7 inactives will be is going to be very interesting.

Outside of this possibly creating a distraction which I doubt it will, how is this a bad move? He is a good pass blocker and still has juice in the tank to rip off some runs. This move only looks stupid if the secondary all goes down.

Payton "thomas should be good to go saturday" = Likely dead
