Wasn't Spence banned due to multiple failed drug use? I mean he seems to have his head screwed on, so that doesn't bother me as much. I think he's going to be out of our grasp in the 2nd round unless we plan on trading back from 12 to the mid-late 20s and grab him there.

wish Saints could land Butler in the 2nd, but he might be gone in the late 1st

where do the draft gurus have Sheldon Rankins going in mock drafts? This is another interior D-line guy to keep an eye on this week.

i didn't watch the south squad today because they practiced across the bay in fairhope. I would check the North team but they always practice in the morning and I'm at work.

going to see the South tomorrow but if its raining still.. eff that.

I've seen as early as late teens 1st and as late as early 2nd.

I know we say it every year, but there's not many "top-end" talent this year, but a bunch of middling guys.

Get yourself a early 20s 1st and a 2nd rounder and you're better off with this much deficiencies on defense.

just sort of find Rankins interesting. I mean he played for Todd Grantham at Louisville and I know at one point Grantham was in consideration for DC with the Saints but Rob Ryan got the job.

they ran a lot of multiple fronts at Louisville... Phil Savage was talking up Rankins big time on the radio about a week ago? I don't know.

Savage is the executive director of the Senior bowl fwiw. He also was the Browns GM for a few years.. mid 2000's maybe?

before that he was in the scouting dept. for the Baltimore Ravens.

Last LSU player we drafted was a key piece to our Super Bowl win.
