The only thing close was golden state blowing a 3-1 lead in the finals.

The fact that this comeback was 150% more points over the next closest comeback in a superbowl puts this over the top though... and there's been 51 SB's.

I don't think ATL will recover from this for a long long time.

I'm sorry, if you are winning 28-3 in the SB at one point in the game and can't seal the deal, you don't deserve one.

While watching the Falcons build that 28 - 3 lead yesterday, I kept telling the crowd that I watched the game with..."this is the Falcons, anything can happen." That said, when Julio Jones made that insane catch late in the game, I started to think that maybe it was finally Atlanta's day. Thankfully, they woke up and remembered who they were.

That's a little hyperbolic. The Yankees blew a 3-0 lead to their arch rivals

I'm still somewhat partial to the Yankees blowing a 3-0 lead to the Red Sox in the 2004 ALCS... esp. the A-Rod slap gate

BTW... week 17... Saints outscored the Falcons 19-0 in the 4th quarter to turn a blowout into a 1-score game

Patriots outscored ATL 19-0 in the 4th quarter to force OT and go on to win the Super Bowl

just bringing a Saintly connection here.

Saints choked not beating them the last game of the year. Should have won that.

The latest is always the greatest. Perspective may change on the question at hand. What won't change is the cabinet at falcons headquarters.

And it's not like they had this 25-point lead early in the game... it was with just over 17 minutes to go

It really was an epic choke. I had already resigned to watch Sports Jeopardy later in order to cheer myself up.

But then that fumble happened and everything changed. I thought for sure after Gostowksi missed that XP that it just was meant to be for Atlanta

When Julio made the sideline catch I thought it was done for sure. Field goal range, can win it just by running it twice. Go up by 11, done. But, they decide to pass and get sacked. Huge loss. They follow that up with a holding penalty, back them up 10 more...out of field goal range. Once they had to punt I think we all knew Atlanta was fricked, then Edelman makes the miracle catch. It was so improbable that all of these things would happen, but Atlanta is known for choking. This time they really outdid it.

Yeah, I could not believe they were throwing the ball when they were already in FG range. It was as if the ghost of Mike Smith returned and called the plays late in the game.

I just don't view baseball as a sport where come backs are unbelievable. Within 1 game, yes, but for a series it's just not amazing.

The only thing surprising about Boston coming from down 3-0 is that it was the first time in MLB history for it to happen.

The gumps losing to Clemson. I know it's not a choke, but it sure feels good.

So, exactly when is the MVP handed out? Looks like I saw Matty Melt got it today? How they hell do you choke away the biggest loss and ge the MVP trophy? Still trying to figure out how Drew doesn't have one.
