pretty sure he likes the 4-3

He has run both in his career.

But i bet he runs a 4-3 in NOLA.

He'd be a good coach because he is the best available, knows how to run a 4-3, and is probably hungry for success after being fired.

Dude has a good resume too. You don't get a head coaching job for being a bad coordinator.

If I recall correctly, Spags was under Jim Johnson in Philly for a while and JJ ran a 4-3. Those Philly D's were tough in Donavan Mcnabb's early career.

They blitzed an awful lot back then. The Saints have perfect personnel for that.

As long as its not Tez Wilson up the middle every time or Harper off the edge every time. I just go the feeling that Williams telegraphed his blitzes.

anyone around Emeril's? That's the usual courting place for Payton.

If I was there I would walk by him and just say under my breath "Do it Spags, do it."

was it Emeril who told Reggie that he really had a chance to do something/save the franchise or something like that?

According to several posters on SR, Spags Payton and Loomis were at Emeril's today.

Not all blitzes are created equal.

Williams had a tendency, which we saw more of this year, to call blitzes that were VERY high risk and VERY high reward. The problem is that once diagnosed, the opposition could sort out what to do.

Take a look at this: LINK

Now, having seen our personnel run these same blitzes over and over again, OCs and QBs can figure out how best to attack them. And as you said, because the blitz is telegraphed way too much, that read is so much easier.

From what I've seen of Spagnolo's defenses, he blitzes quite a bit (not as much as Williams) but does so judiciously.

WWLTV's twitter is saying they know nothing about a presser at 4. So, I'm sure they would know about it.
