1200 yards for $2.5M a year? Isn't that roughly what Ingram will get at 28?
I would be happy with 800 yards and moving the chains on short yardage downs consistently.
I just don't like losing next year's first.

Of course he was cheap, HES frickING 32!
who cares? he rushed for right at 900 yards and has at least another year in him

But the Chiefs also have to realize he has little to no future.
the avg lifespan for a RB is like 5 years
by default, they have no "future"

sign some cheap vet who can get 700 yards to help us out
This is so dumb. Why are RBs even drafted anymore? Each team should just sign and dump veterans every 2 years. THAT is how to build a franchise.

why do you think the #1 RB in the draft went in the VERY late 1st round?

that's pretty much what the top teams in the NFL are going towards

I dont even know why I am wasting energy arguing with you. Its a mute point. You apparently know more than Sean Payton.
If there was a back out there that the Saints felt like they could sign for cheap and get a 1000 yards out of, I'm sure they would have.

I love the pick! We got Jordan and Ingram. I'm feeling pretty good about our draft.

and there are plenty of solid backs later who aren't much worse than ingram
Give us a name or two that you think is close to Ingram that will be available at the Saints' second pick. You can't pick the field vs Ingram. You need to be specific.

Arguing with SPF is the most pointless thing you can do in your life. It'd make more sense to go watch your yard grow.

You're pissed we got a late pick this year for a late pick next year and a 2? Solid pick IMO. I have no idea WTF you're upset about?

shades of the Reggie Bush draft all over again

they could have last year, and didn't
remember, 2 years ago they tried to do this exact same type of deal to get beanie wells

We essentially swapped 1st round picks if we have a good season next yr. We gave up a 2nd rounder for Ingram- I'm ok with that

the past 2 super bowl champs had shite for RB
it may be 3...wasn't FWP starting for the steelers too?

We didn't really give up a second rounder. That Ingram pick essentially takes the place of our second rounder.

You're just arguing to argue now.

and the board would have creamed itself just like tonight over the brillance of trading up for him.
What has Mr. Wells done in 2 years now? Has he even beaten out Hightower yet?

SFP are you seriously trying to argue this move?
The NE patriots keep stockpiling picks in an attempt to be smart.........proving themselves to be some sort of fricking draft genie.
We just got Ingram as our 2012 1st round pick.........To start in 2011........
Don't be dumb........this was a great trade if you are about seizing the moment.
