Maybe you have to let a kicker work through a slump

pretty much what payton said. I think that is the right call going forward, and after we see how the rest of this season plays out, they'll address it or keep him.

I'm hoping he gets it turned around because we will need those field goals in the playoffs.

Yep. Meant Washington and was thinking about Green Bay for some reason. Corrected.

Crosby is
6/6 0-19
52/54 20-29
56/65 30-39
43/61 40-49
16/37 <50

Under 40: 114/125 (91.2%)
Under 50: 157/186 (84.4%)
Career: 77.6% - obviously 50+ is killing him

Hartley is
3/3 0-19
25/27 20-29
24/31 30-39
18/24 40-49
6/8 >50

Under 40: 52/61 (85.2%)
Under 50: 70/85 (82.4%)
Career: 81.7%

Not gonna say crosby is worlds better, but he plays outside in a lot more games than hartley does.

The issue is Hartley missed 3 attempts in the 30-39 range and 2 attempts in the 40-49 range at home, in a dome.

Yeah i didn't want to say anything because I didn't know the numbers, but he isn't even slumping that bad.

Caleb Sturgis has a monster leg, he is having a bad year.

Hartley has gone through slumps like this in the past. This may be his worst yet, but he's always bounced back and performed well. Hopefully this is something just up in his head, and they can get it solved sooner rather than later.

meh - let the kid finish the season - he may just absolutely own shite the rest of the season.

my only gripe, and maybe it isn't so much a gripe - but has there ever been a kicker that puts so much sidespin on kicks?

Haven't read the whole thread but these "get rid of player x" threads are worse than the "should we?" ones.

I've proposed banning "should we?"s unless the poster makes a case why we should. Same thing here and I see some inquired... What better alternative do you suggest?

Beyond not hearing better alternatives, I didn't see the cap mentioned. So add that factor and make the question "Who better with absorbing a $1mil+ cap hit to cut Emo?"

Peeps longing for the days of Martin Gramatica, Taylor Mehlhaff, Olindo Mare, Billy Cundiff, etc. I spose.
