We've apparently traded up 24 times without trading back.

Loomising. Always trade up never down and push all cap money forward. Plus dont ever worry about resigning your own players unless they’re big time franchise guys. Don’t completely disagree with him but thats what he does.

Since 06 we have had the best Saint teams of all time. Fun.

Yes very true but that was also with Sean Payton coaching those teams and Drew Brees at qb. Time will tell how good Loomis is without those guys.

Last time we traded down it was a disaster. We traded down from the 2nd to the third for usama young, who wasn’t even invited to the combine. I wanted us to take Ryan Kalil who was by far the best talent on the board at the time and went on to have multiple all pro seasons.

And we're about to start finding out how good Payton is without Loomis or Brees.

There was a period, from say 2009 to 2017, where seemingly the only picks to hit (start/contribute) were from the first two, maybe 3 rounds. Or they would hit on a 1st rounder & 3rd rounder but bust on a 2nd rounder...or some mix of hitting 2 out of 3.

The day 3 picks were almost all no-name projected 3rd-string backups, no-name special teams-only prospects, no-name injury-riddled prospects with 1st rd measurables or plain-obvious wasted picks.

I was at a point of wishing Loomis would trade up & trade away every 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th pick to get an even better 1st, 2nd or 3rd. We were only getting 2 or 3 contributors/starters per draft anyway so why not? It would've saved Loomis from himself and fans from frustration.
